Check out one of the few realistic NBA2K MyLeague series on YouTube!
Tonight we faced the Memphis Grizzlies, their superstar Freeman Beasley and his sidekick Hollis Bremer, the number one pick in last year's draft.
Let me know what you think!
Link in the thread!
I think the #1 reason old 2K’s lose their playability isn’t because of the gameplay.
It’s because the current roster isn’t in it.
Can you imagine current rosters in old 2K’s?
Having the servers turned on for old 2K’s so they could still be played online would be cool and all (especially since we paid for that feature when we bought the game and it should be available).
But having roster sharing turned on would be crazy cool!
Most likely 2K wouldn’t even have to edit the rosters.l think with all the great roster creators out there they might pitch in.
Plus reviving all those great rosters created for old 2K’s could be brought back to life as well!
I know it’ll never happen because companies don’t care about what the people want anymore. They just want us all paying a monthly subscription.
If it did happen though, my top 3 NBA2K’s I would go back and play are:
- NBA2K19
- NBA2K16
- NBA2K11
But 2K19 would be my very first stop.
Which 2K’s do you still have loaded up ready to play especially with a current roster in it?
“That’s a quick release!”

The Portland Trailblazers have a history of employing players who used racial slurs while employed by them and have hired players with previous violent felony sex convictions.
They do not have zero tolerance for racist or sexist comments.

One of my all time favorite things to do is to play a seven game series against another user.
The best way to do it in 2K in my opinion is to set up an online MyNBA for a 14 game season and force wins for your two chosen teams until they meet in the playoffs. Then invite your opponent to the league.
I did see this little option to find a public tournament. Not sure how good that is.
I know the online playoffs requires a timer which kind of makes it a hassle.
With my method, you can play on your own schedule even though it takes a few minutes to set up.
2K changed Jalen Duren’s player archetype today to:
“Generational Wealth Paint Bully”
See attached screenshot.
The CPU Jazz executed a nice alley oop play against me tonight.
I use to be able to throw alley oops back in 2K19 but haven’t gotten the hang of it in 2K27.
I think I’ve thrown one this year so far!
Played the Jazz tonight and fell down by 24 points!
I eventually came back and took the lead but made a couple mistakes in the last couple of minutes.
Moral of the story is when you get down you just have to keep working at it.
I’m going to have to figure out how to play better defense.
I was thinking if you set out to play every game of a 100 year MyNBA and played one game a day…
you’d need roughly 27 years to get to the end of the MyNBA file!
Change my mind:
Calling plays from the playbook is better than running freelance sets. Friend of mine uses freelance sets really well but I struggle running those.
Have a couple good plays in this clip against the Kings from the Grizzlies playbook.
MEM Fist 35 Stagger
MEM Fist 15 Curl Shake
I typically set plays to auto play calling when I’m learning the team and eventually over ride it when I’ve got a through knowledge of the playbook.
I also noticed in this one the Kings defense was going under the on ball screens and got some open threes that way. Included a couple of examples so you can see that as well.
The Kings defense was going over off ball screens so that got me a couple of great looks as well because of the plays called.
You want to pay attention to what the defense is doing and take advantage of it.
Once you learn to recognize how the defense is playing you, you can play call to take advantage of it.
I played the Kings tonight.
Missed three dunks!
Did get a good game from Jerami Grant with 34 points. That’s my best game with him yet.
I got to get better with Coward. If I could out of Coward what I get out of Jerome that would be great.
Lavine was hard to guard. He liked to drive.
It’s not for everyone but taking your time and playing through an 82 game season is great way to experience NBA2K.
You get a real in depth knowledge of the team, you get to feel the momentum swings during the games and the seasons.
It’s a different world now though.
Even the real NBA players don’t want to play a full season!
A few plays from my game tonight.
After not playing for a few years, I think I’m back to a pro level player offline (where I don’t have to time my shots).
When playing MyNBA offline I agree with @SimGamingNetwrk that you should use real player percentage offline anyway.
Played the Warriors tonight. Curry still put up 58 on me so I need a lot of work on defense.
At this point not using any defensive settings.
Feel like I’m getting better looks now. Not sure I like the grizzlies playbook so may customize the playbook down the road.

The NBA Almanac comes out on October 20th
It will feature in-depth recaps and previews of all 30 NBA teams - stats, lineups, offseason moves, opening night rosters, draft assets, salary cap sheets.
Here is an example of 1 of those teams. The 2026-2027 Portland Trailblazers
I think 2K deserves a lot of credit for the game atmosphere in 2K27.
Feels like the 4th quarter and makes the game fun.
Here the crowd affects the shot on one end and we get an easy transition dunk on the other.
What’s your experience with the game atmosphere?
Stepped away from my rookie ladder for a bit to up the difficulty to pro.
Turned off the shot meter but didn’t combine it with good looks so struggled with Jerome and Coward from three.
Cam Spencer helped in the first half.
Pulled away with a 12-5 run in the last couple of mins led by Powell.
Boozer with 23 boards.
Still have a lot of work to do to get better.
