In my time of darkness I praise God.
In my troubled moments, I make my request known to God in thanks giving.
I cannot be disadvantaged.
Jeremiah 29:11.
A September survey found Ghanaian microfinance banks charging 31% to 40% interest on loans, while most big banks charged 10% to 15%.

Paystack upgraded 11 production database clusters and reported zero post-migration incidents.
The part I found interesting: they started with the most complex cluster.
They’d rehearsed the migration, tested application compatibility and brought in outside specialists. Getting the hardest one right gave them a process for the rest.
The upgrade also avoided more than $170,000 in extended-support fees over the first two years.
We covered the migration in The African Engineer. It’s a free read:

They used planned maintenance windows, so we should say zero incidents, never zero downtime.
I always say growing up in a bad environment with poor parenting isn’t your fault. But as an adult who knows better, continuing to wallow instead of intentionally reorienting yourself is on you.
You must be intentional about it.
“ I wanted to be happily married, so I put in the work. There has to be intentionality about how you respect your husband and ensure that, as a woman, you are not overbearing or overly demanding.”
Tara Fela-Durotoye, entrepreneur, communicator and women’s advocate, shares tips on how she has sustained her 25-year marriage while building her business.

Web scraping often results in broken scripts, hitting rate limits, bot detection, and CAPTCHAs.
In this beginner course, @ania_kubow shows you a simpler API-based approach to collecting web data.
You'll extract structured JSON from various sites, then build an app that searches and downloads content locally.

Observability helps you figure out what’s actually happening inside your app when something goes wrong.
In this handbook, @PacifiqueLinja1 shows you how to use NestJS Observe to trace requests and identify slow operations.
You’ll also learn how logs, metrics, traces, and profiles fit together, and how NestJS Observe compares with OpenTelemetry.

If I had to learn programming all over again in 2026, I wouldn’t try to memorize everything. AI has completely changed how I’d approach it.
I’d start with the basics.
Learn variables so you understand how programs remember things.
Learn conditions so you understand how programs make decisions.
Learn loops so you understand how computers repeat work without you writing the same thing 100 times.
Learn functions so you understand how a big program gets broken into smaller pieces that each have a job.
Learn data structures so you understand how information is organized and moved around.
Learn APIs so you understand how one application can talk to another.
Learn databases so you understand where all that information actually lives and how your application gets it back.
Learn Git so you can experiment, break things, understand what changed and go back when necessary.
Then build something small and watch how all these pieces come together. That part is more important than memorizing syntax.
After that, I’d learn how to work with AI.
And this is where I think a lot of people get it wrong. Don’t just tell AI “build me an app” and copy whatever it gives you. Tell it what you’re trying to achieve. Ask it what would be required to build it properly. Ask what kind of professional would normally handle that job. Then ask the AI to take on that role and guide you through it.
AI can do most of the heavy lifting. Your job is to understand enough to give it direction, ask the right questions, test what it gives you and recognize when it’s confidently doing something stupid.
That’s how I would learn programming in 2026.

After releasing an app, the real learning begins.
Crash rates, launch time, rendering performance, and network failures show what is happening in the real world.

System design addresses how different parts of a system communicate, manage data, & handle requests.
And this course teaches you the key concepts by building a YouTube clone.
Along the way you'll incorporate 3 key services: upload, watch, & transcoder.
