When I first announced that I’d be heading to Bintan Island, Indonesia, for a special two-day resort experience with the RedotsClub team, I was looking forward to the experience, the getaway and the opportunity to connect with other members of the community.
But looking back, one of the best parts of the experience wasn’t just the beautiful location or the activities. It was the people I got to meet and also lead as a Team Leader (Team Rise)
I’m genuinely grateful for the new friendships, the shared moments and the opportunity to cross paths with such amazing people from different continents.

Avalanche is winning in Japan with some of the deepest institutional adoption anywhere, across tokenized securities, payments infrastructure and enterprise systems.
We are here to double down on those efforts and empower the community to build the network.
Prior to launching an official Team1 chapter, in Japan we have been actively growing the community and onboarding builders to Avalanche.

Our mission is to build a Japanese builder community that matches the scale of Japan's institutional adoption, and to support growth across consumer, stablecoins, payments and many other verticals. That means real programs, real pathways, and real outcomes.
While many markets are still running pilots, Japanese institutions are running live systems. Billions in tokenized real estate and corporate bonds now settle on Avalanche.
One of the country's largest payment processors has built on AvaCloud. Japan's biggest banks are exploring tokenized government bonds with Avalanche infrastructure.
Team1 Japan is here to build on those efforts and empower the local community to grow Avalanche too.

The Kenya government is putting more than 15 million academic records on Avalanche. 🔺
The Kenya National Examinations Council recently launched a nationwide E-certification system that uses @avax to secure and verify academic credentials dating all the way back to 1989.
More than 15 million historical and current records have already been anchored through the initial rollout, with the system expected to expand to roughly 35 million records as more examination categories come online.
For students, universities, employers and government institutions, this changes something that used to be painfully slow.
Academic verification in Kenya could take around a month for individual requests, while large bulk requests could stretch to six months. The new system makes credentials digitally verifiable in minutes or even seconds depending on the process, while creating tamper evident proof tied back to KNEC's official records.
The first major cohort includes nearly 1 million students from the 2025 KCSE examinations, with records far-back from 1989 through 2025 already available through the platform.

Today, Team1 Africa officially launches.
The work started years ago. Team1 communities across Africa have been running workshops, university programs, and builder meet-ups in their own cities. Our progress so far:

Africa is home to 1.5 billion people and the youngest population of any continent. Builders here solve problems they face every day, from sending money across borders to reaching customers that banks overlook.
The missing piece has been the connection. A developer in Kenya rarely knows the one in Ghana working on the same problem.
Team1 Africa links these communities into one network. Each country keeps its own culture, language, and way of doing things. We make sure they can find each other.
