I've been using Muse and it's been interesting. The unprecedented access to my private info is undeniable, but it's also been wildly useful. But all the while I'm dealing with stuff like this, which is pretty jarring.

I'm yet to play a single VR mod since all this kicked off. I'm really not interested in talking about this stuff. Would it be cool trying Spider-Man in VR? Yeah. But outside of Little Nightmares and Stray inside UEVR, nothing has been truly one and done. I want complete experiences and so far it's feeling like it can't be had - not really - without a game built from the ground up for VR. This modding thing is alien to me, but it also feels short changed, fleeting, and like we're punching tickets we haven't paid for. I just want to experience Lies Beneath again for the first time.
AAA games won't save VR like people think.

I bought this game, played it, and returned it. I didn't even get to try it in VR. Truthfully, my reasoning was that there wasn't split screen. That's what mattered to me in the moment and it seemed so necessary given how we played this 30 years earlier. share.google/kH6fQ1PJHKfEkGw…

After spending the past several weeks using @Muse from Meta, I realized that they aren't even really trying to compete with most services. What they're offering - especially once this becomes available in glasses form - is delivering on a truly integrated agent, the kind of thing we always wanted but was always hilariously bad. But now it's actually acting as my eyes and ears, telling me about emails before I've opened them, finding concert tickets and remembering things - events, reminders, tasks, all incoming streams of data from a dozen difference places - and shaving time on my day. It's been especially helpful with regards to collaborations and deadlines on my YouTube channel. I'm digging it, and you can check it out using the link below. #ad ai.meta.com/muse/download/

When YouTube Studio goes down it always feels like a crisis. I think because it's easy to imagine it being permanent. The cyber attack that resets everything, and it's suddenly realizing that this whole thing we've worked so hard for could just go away in an instant.

That last video I made is doing well, relative to my subscriber count. But when I jump into the home menu of the Meta Quest Store this is what I'm shown. I know I can go to my library or just search for good games, but compare this to the available titles we had from 2016 to 2021. Lone Echo, Robo Recall, Lies Beneath, etc. You'd be hard pressed to find a game as shamelessly exploitative and childish. And a few of these even lean into "brain rot" within the title. It's a badge of honor.

Half Life Alyx Frame edition 🤔
Valve is setting up the system that gives away of copy of Half-Life Alyx to everyone who purchases a Steam Frame 🤔 (They did the same thing for those who bought a Valve Index)

I hate the culture today. I hate how streaming has destroyed the shared, unified experience that we had in the eighties and nineties. I hate how far removed we are from Saturday Morning Cartoons. I hate how classic animation is extinct. I hate that Disney only destroys their legacy every year by creating live action crap instead of writing new stories. I hate how idiotic everything is. Moana was the gayest, dumbest thing I've watched in years. I spent the day watching Looney Tunes and Freakazoid, and I'm struck at how offensive it must be to green haired lunatics, and how we'll never have it again. Because they'll literally celebrate your death if you disagree loud enough. For the rest of our lives it'll be garbage. For the rest of everything it'll be be dystopian, bad, and awful remakes told by ugly people with ugly motives, from motorized chairs. It's partly streaming that killed the culture, but it's also psychosis. We're in the middle of something that's so insane and so far removed from a normal experience that if we recover at all it'll be 100 years from now. I might carve this post in stone just so it's on the record after everything falls apart in 5 years.

I've never understood this thing where it's "not affordable". I've owned stuff like this in the past and sold it on eBay. Something that's worth $300 I'll sell for $225, and people will message me asking if I can knock $25 off. No, it's already really well priced. But they say no anyhow. If $25 is the tie breaker then it wasn't really about the money. And I spent 6 years buying vests with money I didn't have, reviewing it and selling it again. This pricing controversy is hilariously idiotic. I don't think bHapstics, of all businesses, have suddenly discovered how to sell a gallon of milk for $10. A lot goes into this and people have no idea what's happening on the backend.
There have come a long way since I worked with bHaptics! Good stuff

I think Fierce Creatures is a masterpiece. It's more fun than A Fish Called Wanda - it's not better, but it's more fun.

I make exactly $0.30 a year from Troma annually. And I'm positive he got paid between 100k and 800k for his time on the set. Doesn't mean it's fair, but his complaint isn't with the studio. It's with the state of entertaining and how we consume media. We should all go back to Blu-rays, vinyl and cassettes. We'd own stuff and royalties would be a thing again. share.google/TxeDhFwO5oAB6hn…
