Well I agree... I ♥️ #bitcoin . Bitcoin is the only thing really decentralized.
Anything else apart #bitcoin , including basically all other cryptocurrencies, is not really decentralized.

#Tether $USDt is a centralized stablecoin using decentralized transport layers (aka blockchains).
When you redeem $USDt, it means you want to have FIAT back, ie. interact on the banking layer, hence you have to comply with the FIAT system rules.

This answers my biggest technical questions around Ledger Recover, and means that Ledger has your seed phrase decryption key, not you.
That means Ledger has 1 shard and your decryption key, requiring only one other of their financial partners to collaborate to steal/seize funds.

Just a reminder to keep any funds you are not actively trading with OFF exchanges. If you take away any one thing from recent events it should be that YOUR CRYPTO IS AT RISK if it is held on a centralized exchange. You can reduce this risk by moving it to a hardware wallet.
