The WI have still not responded to either of my emails asking them how they consulted their members about trans women (ie men) being members. I don't remember being asked how I felt about the WI defying the charity commission where they are registered as a women only organisation

Good, these women should not be volunteering in the first place with their blatant disregard of the law. We are hoping those who actively seek to undermine women's rights also leave the @WomensInstitute
🙄 😑 🙄 "Hundreds of Girlguiding volunteers threaten to quit organisation over trans ban Announcement that Girlguiding will only allow those recorded female at birth to join could see mass departures" independent.co.uk/news/uk/ho…

The UK Women's Institute (the WI) have just sent a message to members saying how sad and appalled they are because since our Supreme Court ruling trans women (aka men) can no longer be members. Of course they can't. They are men.

This solitary mining bee took an interest in a Broomwood blazer yesterday! The school’s bee hotel is clearly open for business! #ecoschool #sustainability #biodiversity

Part of an Asian Hornet nest from Jersey. They are an invasive species for the UK. 13 nest have been found and destroyed this year. Please keep a lookout for them. Their favourite snack is honeybees.

The larder for the bees was full today. Lots of crocuses all open in the sunshine with honey bees and some early bumblebee queens taking both pollen and nectar

I think spring is here. A honey bee collecting pollen from a crocus in my garden today. The bee has branched hairs and the pollen grains stick to them. They need pollen to make food for their young larvae because the queen will have started laying eggs.

Definitely snowing here

Oak leaves look beautiful when frosted and leaf litter is providing much needed shelter for lots of insects. And it is now snowing.

It's -2 centigrade today. I hope all our bees are safely clustering with plenty of stored food.

December’s photo of the month was taken by reader Ron Birrell of an anatomy slide of the arolium, which bees use for walking on smooth surfaces. Ron recommends Bob Maurer’s Practical Microscopy for Beekeepers. #beekeepers #bees bee-craft.com/shop/books/pra…

Anne Rowberry is in the news again. This time it's the Sunday Telegraph. The King has bees at Buckingham Palace as did the Queen. I've checked and Charles isn't a member of the British Beekeepers' Association. Next time she is in the Palace perhaps Anne could persuade him to join
It's so warm here that the bees are still flying. It's the 20th of November. They think it's spring.

Beekeeper sweet talks palace guards to give King Charles honey. The police were amazed. An officer commented that he has been at the Palace for 23 years and nobody has persuaded the staff to let them in. Well, Anne did. Well done Anne telegraph.co.uk/royal-family…
