When one of the most powerful people in government publicly labels a relatively unknown British citizen an “outright racist”, that deserves scrutiny.
Danny Tommo is not a senior politician or public official. Most people in Britain would not recognise him walking down the street.
Yet the Home Secretary, Shabana Mahmood has chosen to personally name and condemn him over his involvement in peaceful protests against illegal migration.
People should be free to strongly disagree with Danny Tommo, but ministers should be extremely careful about publicly attacking individual citizens for their political views.
Labour are clearly unwilling to tolerate viewpoints that fall outside their own political worldview.
This is a dangerous path to head down.
This is incredibly dangerous rhetoric from the Home Secretary.
Shabana Mahmood is publicly threatening the “full force of the law” against Danny Tommo before the planned Piddington protest has even taken place.
Whatever your opinion of Danny Tommo, Britain has laws for a reason. You cannot punish someone simply because you disagree with their viewpoints.
If he or anyone else commits a crime, investigate it and prosecute accordingly.
But a Home Secretary singling out an individual in advance and using language like this sets a deeply worrying precedent.
The law must be applied equally, not politically.

I am calling on various parts of the establishment to now ease off on their rhetoric about Restore Britain.
The Telegraph, Labour MPs, Farage, the Daily Mail, Lib Dems, the Guardian. Whoever.
It is putting our people at risk - directly leading to one being hospitalised for burns today, and endangering others.
Challenge our ideas, criticise our policies, debate us on our platform.
But to keep referring to our party as somehow 'nazi' or a whole other string of insults is evidently riling up these wild mobs.
Pushing for mass deportations is mainstream politics, backed by millions and millions of Brits. That is NOT 'nazism'.
Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, should be physically attacked in the street for peacefully campaigning.
This has to end.

My favourite person online is @DavidBe31099196. The first thing I do every morning is check David’s X feed because I value his insights more than anyone else on here.
But I think David’s civil-war analysis focuses too heavily on nationalist discontent without properly assessing the radical Left. That group is far more organised than the Right and is just as radicalised. Genuine factionalism is emerging much faster on the Left than the Right.
The mega-event that triggers civil conflict is therefore more likely to come from Third World Islamo-communists.

A lawless society with an ideologically driven legal system and an authority that fails its basic duty invites vigilante justice. That’s a duty citizens owe one another when the social contract is broken.
I see this as a deliberate strategy: Norway has the resources to deal with it, but chooses instead to spend the money on the WEF, the Taliban, Hamas and Ukraine, to name just a few. The entire political apparatus is ideologically driven and the result is mayhem.
