Surveillance is sold as tool for justice, but always surrenders freedom and expands government. These companies and governments must be held liable for the harm they cause.

Lindsey Isaacs, a 23-year-old from Palm Coast, Florida, testified about being thrown into solitary confinement for more than three days after a Flock license-plate camera wrongly tied her Dodge Durango to a deadly I-4 crash.
Jail staff told her she had to stay isolated because of how serious the charges were. The cell door stayed locked for about 86 hours.
She said she was terrified she would spend the rest of her life in prison for a wreck she knew she hadn’t caused.
At her lowest point she didn’t want to live. She spent nearly two weeks in maximum-security jail before prosecutors dropped the charges.
Flock should be sued out of existence for this.

Two shootings in the Old Market in August. Police response was more cameras. The department’s Real-time Operations Center already assists nearly 4,000 calls a year, with access to footage from more than a 1,000 cameras across the metro. Nobody asked whether more surveillance was the answer. They just installed it. When did we stop asking?

General Assistance Program $9.4 million in aid from 2023 to 2025. Admin costs nearly $7 million. Thats $74 in overhead for every $100 that actually went to “people”
They bought about 26,000 Dollar General Gift Cards for more than $759000.
A Sample of 100 cards about half spent on cigarettes, alcohol, food, toys, candy and pet food.
No real tracking. Hundreds of thousands at risk for waste and abuse.
