Coach Beam didn’t just coach football — he changed lives. He saw potential in people before they saw it in themselves, and he pushed generations to rise above every challenge. His legacy lives in every life he lifted. Fly high, Coach.

We have lost a coach, mentor, leader and a legend. John Beam is a man that has done so much to help the men/women at Laney and throughout the city of Oakland. There are no real words to express our heartfelt sorrow. We will keep Coach Beam’s family in our thoughts and prayers.
