Fulci loves to just *linger* on stuff too. Even if the effect is kinda cheap and wonky, you end up sitting with it for so long that it eventually disturbs. He never lets you off easy.

Alright, we can wrap this shit up now
#SNL alum Dana Carvey "didn't understand the kerfuffle" over Shane Gillis' monologue.
"I just saw it as what we call — I’ll just say it — a joke," Carvey said. “Like, when you say jokes, you’re not literally saying women are whores. You are literally joking. Isn’t that kind of the idea? No? Did I just get canceled?” variety.com/2026/tv/global/d…

Mitchell and Webb just did a new series last year and while it was hard to gauge the reception, it did seem like I was in the minority of thinking it was mostly pretty damn good

Both sides of the ocean have been hurting for more tv sketch shows for ages now but sadly, we’re well past the sketch boom of the 80s and 90s. Still, not a healthy landscape where SNL’s only competition is basically itself

The references haven’t even really been a hurdle for me! I liked the Pork Council sketch even without knowing its cultural history. It’s actually when they stop being specific that things start to get iffy for me but again, I’m not saying they haven’t done great sketches so far
Speaking in massive generalities here but it is amusing to me how much SNL UK is Bizarro World to me because their Update is routinely far and away the best part of the show while they continue to struggle with live sketches, something that runs complete opposite to the US show
There’s been many great Paddy Young moments at the desk so far but I think this may be my favorite so far
It’s utterly bizarre that we live in a world where SNL is getting dunked on by *checks notes* SNL.
No fines here! Ania Magliano calls Shane Gillis a “Stupid f*cking c*nt” on #SNLUK Weekend Update
Watching the entire TL enjoy their showings of The Devils before I can finally get out and see it on Wednesday

I think people would rebel these days because watching SNL is now more a sport where you focus on the screentime of your favorite cast members but, yes, I’d still love a quick standup spot from a person the show deemed hip and fun. Any format breaking is welcome at this point.

So much of that type of thing has been boiled down to almost exclusively “let’s make fun of Colin Jost” for years and it drives me insane
The show that could STILL do this isn’t that far in the rearview
I think SNL should still have one segment open per episode to so something that isn’t counting on audience laughter to get over. Something more dramatic, or artistic, or whatever. Just three minutes, it’s not much. I truly think it’d energize the show to think like that again.

Title track ain’t bad either. There’s moments in this album but man, I think the production is absolutely repellent.
