I hope @Dani_A_01000011 doesn't mind me tagging her to say her session on neurodiverity in health data analysis was one of my favourite sessions of #HACA2024. Thank you so much for shining a light on the strengths of people who are neurodivergent in data.

I miss spelt neurodiversity which perhaps shows what two fill days of meeting lots of new people does to my AuDHD brain!

Great morning at #HACA2024 hearing about the impact of data on improving outcomes and promoting equity in health. I'm here with a poster on work I completed at Macmillan Cancer Support but also excited to make connections for my (new) role in data analytics at NICE!

Having a great time at #haca2024 - really interesting talks about the value of data analysis in health care. Absolutely loving seeing so many women in data on the stage 😍

For #InternationalWomensDay and throughout March we're sharing a series of blogs around gender inequalities within healthcare. @macmillancancer first guest author is Dr Hannah Tharmalingam who discusses how current healthcare systems are failing women. macmillan.org.uk/healthcare-…

Fantastic talk and work from Mark. Definite need for better partnerships and collaboration as equals across borders and siloes - inc. front line health staff/academics/researchers/industry/third sector and esp. patients to achieve the best cancer outcomes! #CRUKDataConf24
💡Join us for our last talk of the #CRUKDataConf24 to hear @QUBCancerProf (@HDR_UK @QUBelfast) sharing insights on how data influence policy to achieve impact (AB).

Brilliant day at the inaugural #CRUKDataConf24. Want to find out more about the holistic concerns voiced by people living with cancer and how we're using data to find gaps in what support is available? Find me tomorrow at poster spot number 3! 💚 @macmillancancer

Research shows that scientific endeavour is aided by diversity of thought, approach and experience and we want members of our community to know that we will continue to work to promote equality of opportunities and make science as open, inclusive and diverse as it should be.

I'm so angry at the hateful rhetoric in the last couple of days. Signposting this gender inclusive information about cancer (and other health conditions). And a promise that many people in the health service stand in solidarity and are not bigots. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ macmillan.org.uk/cancer-info…

I have worked hard to make science more inclusive. Science needs diverse researchers with varied interests & skills, and should apply itself to solving diverse global problems. As far as I'm concerned, if the government wants to 'kick out the woke', they'll need to sack me.

One of the main problems with #AskDontAssume is that in my experience people don't have an issue asking. Employers/doctors/strangers all constantly ask for personal medical information. The issue is they don't listen and make assumptions anyway, disregarding what you've said.

People do a whole lot of asking but very little listening or learning. In discussing migraines with a previous employer I had to go through a decade of detailed neurology notes with them, for them to ask had I tried drinking 2L of water a day and taking some paracetamol.

Congratulations to @ThatPhysicsGirl Helen Chamberlain, who has won the @ipemnews @WCSIM1 Early Career Essay Prize 2023 for her essay on 'How will the role of physics in the fight against cancer develop over the next 10 years?’ ipem.ac.uk/news/early-career…

Powerful piece on one of the reasons why doctors are striking. Staff deserve better work terms and conditions, but patients also deserve better than staff can currently give them. The government are keen to portray striking staff as selfish when they're anything but.
I defy anyone to read this extraordinarily candid, harrowing & heartbreaking account of the truth of a crippled NHS oncology system & not burn with rage for how this government has decimated the NHS & failed NHS patients. Please, please read & share 😔 lucygossage.com/my-reasons-f…

Mr Mathew is the reason I went into medical physics! Grateful for all my teachers, but he was one of the ones who had a big impact and greatly impacted the impact I could then have in my life 😊 Happy retirement!

The @duolingo owl is making me sad. Why keep messing with the structure of the Italian course when there are still errors in the grammar? I keep having to repeat earlier lessons with no option to skip.

Hey guess what, lots of the disabled people who Osbourne et al haven’t managed to pick off yet can’t get married because they’d lose their benefits. He deserves no peace.

There is often a focus on how the NHS needs to introduce more diagnostic equipment and innovations in treatment without recognising you need very specialist staff to commission, operate and maintain them. Good report from IPEM about the medical physics and engineering workforce
With UK govt set to publish the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan, we set out the issues facing the medical physics & clinical engineering workforce & the urgent action needed now: #NHSWorkforce #NHSWorkforcePlan #medphys #clinicalengineering @NHS ipem.ac.uk/news/medical-phys…
