That’s now three separate randomized controlled trials in a row showing benefit from LDRT for osteoarthritis. Does anyone know of any negative RCT vs no treatment control at modern doses (less than 1 Gy per fraction)? Strong evidence to point to with insurance companies. I’ve seen hundreds of patients benefit and think we need to strongly advocate for our patients to maintain access to this care option.

Thoughtful read on how oncology rewards innovation. Much of RT progress = precise & efficient tx, improving therapeutic ratio but reducing reimbursement. Systemic advances often =drugs given for yrs. Current model rewards quantity/duration, but shouldn’t value reflect benefit?

We just finished an incredible meeting with Dr. Robert Timmerman as part of rasident fellows grand round at @MDAndersonNews Two minutes of pure inspiration that will stay with me for a lifetime. He said: “If you think your job is to contour, you can easily be replaced by AI. Your real role is to see patients, think about patients, and solve patients’ problems.
