Crystal Lake was a 6/10 . Did not like that origin story. Am I watching a sci-fi? Or horror slasher.
The biggest mistake Crystal Lake makes is thinking Jason Voorhees needs a scientific explanation to be terrifying.
Secret experiments? Cockroach DNA? Endless family trauma? Since when did Friday the 13th need all this?
The tragedy of Jason drowning and Pamela losing her son was already horrifying. You don't need to turn a slasher origin story into a sci-fi conspiracy just to make it feel deeper.
And that's my problem with this show. It seems more interested in rewriting the mythology than understanding why people fell in love with it in the first place.
Not every horror icon needs a tragic backstory, a scientific explanation and a redemption arc. Sometimes the mystery IS the horror.

Last time the Clippers launched ClipperVision, it was a standalone streaming service. Now, it will be the primary broadcast home for Clippers games.
The Clippers say that can watch ClipperVision through participating cable, satellite, and other TV providers, including Spectrum, DIRECTV, and Fubo. Fans with an eligible package do not need to purchase a separate ClipperVision subscription to watch through their provider and that they should check their provider’s TV guide for game listings and channel information.
Alternatively, fans can also subscribe directly to ClipperVision through NBA.com or the NBA App.
