The removal of fuel subsidy basically means most Nigerian states are just entering their “golden age” of governors. 🙈
It’s not like these men are really fantastic administrators, but they just have a lot more money to spend and are operating in a far more optimal legal (given the ongoing decentralization of powers) and financial situation.
Massive improvements over 4 years is doable, uninterrupted supply for 230 million people in one year is outright impossible with our current budget
Working for companies with revenue>>>>>>>
I learned this early in my career and it helped me maximise my income.
It will require a lot of humility to accept it, but your technical ability, experience or skill is a very tiny part of what determines your salary.
Regardless of how competent you are, if you don’t work in a company that can afford to pay above or at market rates, you’ll be underpaid. The economic reality in the country you reside in also determines what you’ll get paid. The type of company you work for and the industry also play a significant role.
A driver in a oil company will earn more than an accountant in a private secondary school (even the posh ones).
It has very little to do with their skills or competence.
You’re making the mistake I made when I first started looking for remote opportunities from Nigeria.
The benchmark IS NOT the salary range in the country where the company is located, but the range in YOUR country!
What do the top companies pay on average in your company? Add 18 to 20% to it and it becomes the absolute minimum you can accept.
Just in case you’ve forgotten, there’s huge supply of talents like you in Nigeria and few employers, so even locally, it is an employer’s market. The few companies hiring from Nigeria know this too. Like I said, it is basic economics. It is not in your place to determine what is fair when they can very easily find another person who will accept the offer since your expectations are out of touch with your own reality.
Getting a side gig from a Nigerian founder in the UK is not even what I am talking about. However it is unreasonable to expect $700 from a founder who is bootstrapping a company from their own £3500 salary.

The effectiveness of maxim guns was insane. Took the British only 4 maxim guns (only FOUR) to take down the mighty sokoto caliphate. Sokoto caliphate stretched through 4 countries in the modern day. A civilization that doesn’t take technological advancement and sovereignty seriously will eventually be subjugated.
Opays rates are not comparable to prevailing Nigerian rates.
They are only comparable to predatory loan sharks.
Wema, GT, even mfbs like LAPO lend you at 3-4% per month. Opay is a whooping 18% per month!
They can write off loans whatever because they are already make a killing on performing loans.
Meanwhile, OPay wrote off $113 million in loans in six months recently. Loans to ordinary Nigerians without fucking collateral, the kind of loans conventional Nigerian lenders would never tolerate. And OPay’s lending rates are actually comparable to prevailing Nigerian rates.
Complete fucking bozos. No need for another epistle. A lot of Nigerians are so intellectually bankrupt that these Chinese people should just let them find out what life looks like without the opportunities they take for granted. They should let y'all die for real. Many of you people are simply not worth the salvation.
All my laptops (except my Mac) have been touchscreens. Special place in my heart. I remember doing this in my shitty hp laptop in android studio. I can never understand the haters of this piece of tech. It’s so cool.

Country will have a revenue of 20b, but because everyone thinks money grows on trees, the National Assembly will pass a budget of 60b.
Where will the remaining 40b come from? Well, you have to borrow. Of course, that puts a strain on revenue for next year which is already not enough in the best circumstance.
So what do we do to solve the problem next year? HAVE AN EVEN BIGGER BUDGET 🤣
Where will the money come from? Is it me that will provide it?
🤣🤣 olorun jhur saanu mi lowo awon government agbako 🤣
Of course it gets to a point where no one wants to borrow us money again because the people borrowing us initially aren’t actually retarded. So what happens next? Money printer goes BRRRRR
If you aren’t an uneducated moron, you know the effects of that is *literally* wartime inflation, which is why we had inflation up to 34% in 2024.
This, as expected, makes people poorer, which makes them demand for even more subsides which we originally do not have the money to fund. Does it end there? No, the next year we have an EVEN BIGGER BUDGET because inflation is now 34% and that’s what you do when inflation is at that point.
And on and on it goes, which is why we ALWAYS have a budget deficit and FREQUENTLY have INSANE (basically catastrophic) inflation figures every decade.
Developed nations strive for a 2-3% inflation rate per year, Tinubu will be a miracle worker if he can deliver EVEN 7% inflation!

The correct analogy is that someone was giving away rice they borrowed money to buy, then when they died, their descendants was like "this is retarded. If people want rice, they should pay for it. We'll even allow them a credit facility. But going like this will bankrupt us."
This is how stupid our people are. And it’s most of the population
I am selling rice for N1,000. Rice is essential for everyone to eat. Everyone is buying the rice. Suddenly a new producer comes and says rice is now N10,000. You complain and groan. He now goes “Ok I will give you loan so that you can afford the N10,000 rice”. You now jubilate and say “This man is trying. He cooked with that loan for me to be able to afford rice”
This is the tale of NELFUND.
Bargaining. Everybody will get there in the end
