The alert is shown by the OS because of "UIRequiresPersistentWiFi" in Textastic's Info.plist. This was originally added so that the WebDAV server can bind to the device's Wifi interface. I would need to check if it works without it.

Can you please send me a screen recording video of the Emoji crash so I can see the steps to reproduce the issue?

I can’t believe that after 10 years of being #iPadOnly I still use these 5 apps every day and they are still “best in category” for me: - @iAWriter - @Textastic - @reederapp - @ithoughtsapp - and of course (duh!) @nozbe P.S. These are all indie apps michael.team/apps10/

I’m on Mastodon at @[email protected], but not active at the moment. I’ll probably cross-post news there. mstdn.io/@lextar

Yeah. Maybe I can also improve it so that previewing external files in Safari is actually possible.

The first two options disappear when an external file open. It looks like the third option is still there when it shouldn’t. Thanks for letting me know about this issue. I’ll fix it in an update.

Oh, I see now! There are several ways to open the preview in Safari: 1. When the code editor is open, tap "…" and choose "Preview in Safari" 2. Tap and hold the preview button and choose "Preview in Safari" 3. What you used: in the preview screen, tap "…" and "Open in Safari"

Interesting. For external files there should not even be a "Preview in Safari" option. It would be great if you could send me screen recording video (to [email protected]) of how you are opening the file using the share sheet and how opening in Safari then fails.

Basically Textastic just opens a "http://localhost…" url similar to this: http://localhost:8080/Local/GettingStarted.textastic You could also try to go to Textastic’s settings -> Web Preview and choose "Random Port" to see if changes anything.

Hmm, then it should work. Does a reboot help?

Hello, did you configure a different browser as the default browser in the Settings app? Some browsers don't support the "localhost" url scheme.

Start editing files in @Textastic from context menu. The file and any changes stay in the repository. apps.apple.com/app/apple-sto…
