No good news to report yet on the recovery of the data on compute nodes in ATL, ORD and PHX. The @kzngdn freelancers are still on JFK.
Be back in a bit — putting another kid that woke up back to bed.
One of the most important lessons was don't put backups on storage that is not easy to get the data back from quickly in an outage.

One suggestion would be to sell some SmartOS instances to folk to pay for the hardware but that would require ramping up things quite a bit.
@nathanpitman @joyent don't think they will. No clue what they put into the terms of the contract with Dean. I'm sure they've nailed him.
@nathanpitman One of the benefits is I'm getting to work with numerous freelancers — hopefully I find some gems in this.
@nathanpitman @joyent I wonder how much those t-shirts would cost to make?
@nathanpitman Prob would do a by datacenter thing — the main thing is getting the RAID10's usable to dump stuff.
@nathanpitman Main thing is to get to the $7200 together ASAP — I'd like to not worry that boxes are going to vanish.
@nathanpitman The way I got zpools back for some new york boxes did not work elsewhere. Pending an analysis of disk related bits.
@nathanpitman I've asked some folk with more nuts and bolts experience with the underlying zfs / disk partitioning bits to take a look

@willie I have some folk getting that data into something more useful.

@willie the freelancers @kzngdn do the work to get glacier to thaw it and get it to a file storage node.

@willie Yes +/- 1600 or so of them were backed up on the 17th/18th/19th of March 2014.
