I think this is the right policy position re: data centers: 1) don't disrupt the projects underway and 2) open the door to negotiate for a better deal for future projects Well done.
The governor-elect of Texas, Gina Hinojosa, has explicitly said that all currently permitted datacenters in Texas will be allowed to finish construction. This essentially covers all of the 2027 and likely well into 2028. She is going to pass laws that ensure that all *newly* permitted datacenters going forward for delivery in 2028/2029 will pay taxes, commit to no increase in power prices for consumers, don’t impact water availability for people, be constructed with union labor and give “Texans a seat at the table.” Sounds reasonable. She doesn’t want to lose a lot of good blue collar jobs and property taxes for small towns in rural Texas. Datacenter commentary starts at 6:30 in this interview. Also attaching her official campaign position from her website in the next post. Sidenote: After watching a bunch of her speeches and interviews, I do think she is a political talent and probably has a future in national politics. youtu.be/D-T6H3b8ZeE?is=mEWu…

Unions mean more than just good jobs — they mean safety for workers and the community. As @TxBldgTrades Executive Director Ryan Pollock said, union workers are trained to spot safety issues and are empowered to speak up without fear. Full interview: awf.labortools.com/listen/ry…

Governor Abbott, I'll meet you at the Governor's Mansion next Thursday at 10 AM. If you're not man enough to debate me, you don't deserve to be the governor of Texas.

"Voters have an opportunity to move away from the divisive rhetoric and cynical abuse of the legal system that marked [Ken Paxton's] three terms in this office. "We recommend state Sen. Nathan Johnson as the next attorney general. His candidacy would be a giant step forward for all Texans." "[Middleton] is a terrible candidate who is far more interested in pleasing President Donald Trump than in representing all Texans." -San Antonio Express News

Why does the next Governor of Texas not have 100 thousand followers on X? If you can't donate can you at least follow her?
I’m running for governor. For over a decade, Greg Abbott has made it easier for billionaires to profit while hardworking Texans struggle to afford groceries, housing, and healthcare. But together, we can make Texas work for Texans again. Join us: ginafortexas.com

Wilber came to this country legally. He has no criminal record. An ICE agent shot him anyway. He slept on a prison cell floor with a bullet still lodged in his back. He can’t move the left side of his body. This isn’t law enforcement. It’s lawlessness.
Update on Wilber: He is being held at Pearsall for interrogation and still has the bullet lodged in his body. He’s received no pain medication and had to sleep on the floor.

Behind every new building in Texas is a workforce pushing through brutal heat. Dozens of workers have died and thousands more face severe health issues because they were denied basic protections like water breaks. Put people over profits! #txlege houstonchronicle.com/news/in…
