I’ve had such a fun baseball season that included different wonderful experiences.
One topic continues to be on my mind. the Texas @Rangers Hall of Fame members.
I came away from South Carolina during September with more of an appreciation for fans of baseball history that honor players / media members who have passed. (Shoeless Joe Jackson)..
It would be wonderful if @Rangers fans could create a designated home page on each social media site to honor Texas Rangers hall of famers who have passed..
No other topics, strictly a data base that grows with information related to only them.
This may exist already for all i know..
I’m curious if it is okay for Ranger fans to visit the gravesite for the Rangers Hall of Fame members and instead of flowers leave a baseball ⚾️. ?
A show of appreciation, gratitude and ❤️⚾️.
Also a great way to teach the kids about the persons impact with the team..
If it’s not offensive to the family and friends I would like to visit the gravesite for Holtz and Vandergriff here in Arlington..
I realized that this would be a great way for Ranger fans to honor our Ranger family.
Has anyone ever visited the cemetery?

Yes. NYC DOB rules require sidewalk sheds to be removed immediately once construction, demolition, or remediation work is complete. Code (BC 3307.6) bars earlier removal until the structure is enclosed, exterior work finishes, and equipment is cleared, but mandates takedown afterward. Owners file a removal request in DOB NOW, pass inspection, then notify within two business days. Recent 90-day permits and penalties target lingering sheds.
Check out his hands.
Crossed ?
Im not sure if there is advantage to holding the bat like that.
@Rangers ⚾️👍
Bud Zipfel, who played for the original Rangers franchise, has died. He played first base and outfield for the expansion Washington Senators in 1961 and 1962, before the team moved to Texas and became the Rangers. He died October 10, 2026, in Highland, Illinois, at 87. The local obituary says he died peacefully at Highland Health Care Center and doesn't give a cause.
He played 118 games over those two seasons, with 10 home runs and 31 RBIs. On September 12, 1962, he hit the 16th-inning home run that won Tom Cheney's record 21-strikeout game. He served in the Marines and later ran an insurance and real estate business in Belleville for more than 50 years. His last name is the "Zipfel" in the title of the player encyclopedia *Aaron to Zipfel*.
My favorite family band on YouTube.
It’s been wonderful to watch them grow from little kids learning to play their instruments from their parents….

Tampa starter Nick Martinez was the Rangers' 18th Rd pick in 2011. His 15.0 career bWAR trails only Kyle Hendricks (22.4) from that draft. None of Texas' first 5 selections from that draft ever made it to the big leagues.
😎👍
The top televised events on ABC’s Wide World of Sports in the 1970s, ranked primarily by ratings/share (from data in Travis Vogan’s ABC Sports book), were dominated by Evel Knievel stunts, Muhammad Ali fights, and Harlem Globetrotters appearances.
Here is the ranking of the highest-rated 1970s episodes (share = percentage of households using TV that were tuned in):
1. October 25, 1975 – Evel Knievel’s motorcycle jump over 14 Greyhound buses (Kings Island, Ohio) — 22.3 rating / 52 share. This remains the highest-rated episode in the show’s entire history.
2. January 11, 1976 – Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Frazier (“Thriller in Manila” tape) — 21.0 / 43.
3. February 17, 1974 – Evel Knievel jump + Cheyenne Rodeo — 20.6 / 49.
4. January 14, 1979 – Harlem Globetrotters — 20.3 / 40.
5. November 25, 1972 – Muhammad Ali vs. Bob Foster + Olga Korbut feature — 19.6 / 41.
6. September 14, 1974 – Evel Knievel’s Snake River Canyon skycycle jump attempt — 19.4 / 49 (tie).
7. March 31, 1973 – Muhammad Ali vs. Ken Norton — 19.4 / 46 (tie).
8. January 27, 1973 – George Foreman vs. Joe Frazier — 19.3 / 39.
9. January 13, 1973 – Harlem Globetrotters — 19.1 / 41.
10. January 8, 1978 – Harlem Globetrotters / weightlifting — 18.6 / 41.
Other highly memorable or frequently cited 1970s events (not always the absolute highest-rated but iconic to the show) include:
• Vinko Bogataj’s ski-jump crash (March 21, 1970, International Ski Flying Championship), which became the enduring visual for the famous intro line “the agony of defeat.”
• Olga Korbut’s gymnastics performances and the rise of the sport on U.S. TV.
• Dorothy Hamill’s figure-skating moments.
• Ali–Foreman “Rumble in the Jungle” coverage and other heavyweight fights.
• Regular staples such as Acapulco cliff diving, figure skating championships, NASCAR (including Daytona 500 highlights), and occasional quirky events like wrist wrestling or lumberjack competitions.
Wide World of Sports (hosted mainly by Jim McKay) thrived in the 1970s by mixing big-name boxing, daredevil stunts, Olympic-style sports, and more obscure international or novelty competitions. The Knievel and Ali episodes consistently drove the biggest audiences. 👇👇👇
I thought it would save time ordering on the @McDonalds app 30 minutes before I arrive.
It doesn’t.
The lady said that they don’t receive the order until I ask for it over the drive through speaker.
Im waiting in spot #2 .. 😂
Granbury Texas McDonald’s..
Is she telling the truth or did they receive my order when I ordered it in advance and not start on it ?
If you are a American League fan.
Your choices are Cleveland or Tampa..
Who would you choose for the World Series ?
