Had constructive engagements with H.E. Mike Waltz, Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations, and Ambassador Jeffrey Bartos, U.S. Representative to the UN for Management and Reform.
Discussed recent developments in the #Horn of #Africa and presented #Eritrea’s perspective on the evolving regional situation. Reiterated that there is no "crisis" between #Eritrea and #Ethiopia, and underscored the need for the international community to pay closer attention to the worrisome developments within #Ethiopia. The most important issue is for #Ethiopia to respect #Eritrea's sovereign territories and stop diverting attention from its domestic issues.
Outlined #Ethiopia|s three-year-long campaign concerning the Red Sea and its continued threats against #Eritrea’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, including threats to annex sovereign #Eritrean territories. Urged those with leverage to use it responsibly and proactively, to prevent unnecessary wars in the region. To refrain from making statments that embolden #Ethiopia's leadership.
Also briefed them on #Ethiopia’s expulsion of #Eritrea’s representatives accredited to the @_AfricanUnion Union and the @UN Economic Commission for #Africa, as well as the breakdown of diplomatic relations initiated by #Ethiopia and reciprocated by #Eritrea.
#Eritrea’s sovereignty and territorial integrity must be respected. Preventing renewed conflict requires addressing the underlying threats, upholding international law, and acting before issues escalate...

Puppet Abiy Ahmed’s stooges aren’t quite so euphoric anymore, are they? 😂
Funny how quickly the celebrations turn into silence.
We warned them. There is a reason why you are allowed to march in without any resistance.
But Zeraf Tsu won’t listen. Hard to hear a warning when your entire strategy is screaming “ZERAAFFFF!”

I swear I've been asking that very same question for weeks now: Who exactly is the target audience for this cheap, superficial and utterly fake display of concern for people he is either brutalising or threatening to invade? Who exactly is the target audience for all of the PPiopian propaganda, disinformation, historical revisionism, and straight lies? The 'world' is definitely not watching/hearing, and international media channels can't seem to grasp the distortion of facts and history coming out of Ethiopia. So ultimately, the target audience is the people of #Eritrea and #Ethiopia, and the aim is to terrorize them to thinking that #peace is not possible; that using people as cannon fodder is justified.

The level of virtue-signalling and gaslighting directed at the people of #Tigray and #Eritrea by Abiy in yesterdays so-called interview was off the charts.
The only question I keep asking myself after watching Abiy’s interview on his megaphone media outlets is: Who exactly is the target audience for this cheap, superficial and utterly fake display of concern for people he is either brutalising or threatening to invade?
By putting quotation marks around #Eritrean independence, Abiy essentially signalling that he does not recognise #Eritrea as an independent country. He then tried to convince #Eritreans that they were better off under the Dergue’s occupation than they are today. This begs the question: who is he trying to convince? He must have an extraordinarily low opinion of the Eritrean people to imagine they would buy such nonsense.
He also insulted and blamed the TPLF for everything that has happened in #Tigray, while, in the same breath, pleading with young Tigrayans to abandon the TPLF and join the PP, promising that he is ready to bake one of his famous specialty of corridor project on the streets of #Mekele. He even accused the TPLF of claiming to fill the shoes of Emperor Yohans IV, but are currently working with Egypt who killed the emperor and he also accused them for dividing Tigray along sub-regional lines, essentially favouring people from Adwa and alienating others. The contempt he has on the people of Tigray is unbelievable.
Here, it is worth recalling the statement made by the Oromo intellectuals a few days ago: “The PP regime has repeatedly converted legitimate political grievances into horizontal conflicts between communities, deepening mistrust and social tensions into enduring ethnic antagonisms. The strategy shifted attention away from the central crisis of governance and made collective political solutions more difficult to achieve.”

Reading from a teleprompter on Ethiopia's TV yesterday, the Potemkin Party's Prime Minister disparages Eritrea's economic development, and particularly its manufacturing sector, as "stagnant and in decline" since its independence in 1991.
The speech/interview was also laced with his three-year old threats of war of aggression and invasion unless Eritrea succumbs to his delusional projects of "sovereign access to the sea" and "Ethiopian naval presence" in Eritrea's coastal territory; packaged this time round in different pretexts, language, and format.
To revert to his disparaging discourse on Eritrea's economic performance and potential:
1. In the past 35 years, Ethiopia was the beneficiary of a whopping 80-90 billion US dollars of international multilateral and bilateral assistance;
2. Ethiopia went through two rounds of WB sponsored debt-cancellation rounds, as well as repetitive financial bailouts from the IMF and other donors. For almost ten years in -between, Ethiopia's dire humanitarian conditions were alleviated by the international community under a customized "social safety net" and other similar "intensive care" financial antidotes.
3. The current regime itself has received over 30 billion US dollars in international assistance in the last 8 years alone. In addition, its tattering economy is being resuscitated by another IMF bailout programme to the tune of 3.1 billion US dollars.
4. And yet, as the figures below illustrate, more than 68% Ethiopians are living under extreme poverty while close to 30 million people require urgent humanitarian relief assistance at this point in time.
5. In as far as the 300 manufacturing plants that the PP leader alludes to, these were old factories built during Italy's colonization of Eritrea from 1889 until 1941. The British Military Administration dismantled many of those factories - including the dock in Massawa - as "war booty" and sold them to other foreign countries. The occupationist Haile Selassie regime, in its turn, dismantled many of the remaining factories and transferred them to Ethiopia especially during the imposed "Federation" period.
6. After its hard-won independence in 1991, Eritrea registered rapid economic growth in the first seven years (WB reports). Imposed wars and unwarranted sanctions thereafter naturally affected the pace and magnitude of its economic trajectory.
7. These externalities have nothing to do with Eritrea's open investment and economic policies and visions.
8. And in any case, Eritrea has the abundant economic endowments (blue economy, extractive industry, educated and industrious human capital, and a civilized culture that celebrates religious and ethnic diversity within robust national unity) to excel and achieve its aspirations of rapid and sustainable growth in a conducive and enduring regional climate of peace and stability.
9. Finally, Ethiopia itself could do much better, extricate itself from debilitating dependency, and use its abundant resources for real development if its leaders abandon sectarian policies of division and polarization that incubate perennial cycles of internal turmoil as well as intertwined acts of regional destabilization in pursuit of delusional and expansionist projects.

Sudan's capital, Khartoum, is under one of the longest and most intense UAE backed RSF drone barrages in months, with no letup as night falls. The drones are taking off from Ethiopia. Most were shot down by the Sudanese army's air defenses, but civilians have been killed. Abiy Ahmed appears to be dragging the region into a war it may not be able to escape.
#Ethiopia:
Abiy Ahmed: My dear soldiers, WHAT EXACTLY ARE YOU DYING FOR?
My family? In Dubai.
Field Marshal Birhanu Jula’s family? In Ohio.
The generals’ children? Safely abroad.
And you, my dear soldiers? On the front lines.
Oh, and have you seen my suit, by the way? Bling bling! 💎
Looks expensive, doesn't it?
Actually, I should thank YOU. You made all this possible.

UAE puppet Abiy’s troops marched into town after town as the TPLF withdrew. The PP rats on this app celebrated, mistaking territorial gains for military victory.
Now the counterattacks are testing that illusion.

Third UAE-Backed Rapid Support Militia Drone Attack Hits Khartoum: Sources Reveal Ethiopian Launch Site, Corroborating Earlier Report of UAE-Flown Drone Operators
Khartoum, October 19, 2026
Eastern Khartoum came under a third wave of drone attacks on Monday, carried out by the UAE-backed Rapid Support Militia (Janjaweed), as the Sudanese capital faced repeated aerial assaults throughout the day. One of the attacks killed four civilians, including three children between the ages of two and six, when a drone struck a residential home in the Burri Imtidad Nasser neighborhood.
Reliable sources speaking to Sudanese Echo have revealed new information indicating that the latest attack was launched from inside Ethiopian territory, specifically from a location approximately 13 kilometers across the Ethiopian border, southeast of the Ethiopian town of Al-Biro. According to the sources, the location was used to launch drones targeting the Sudanese capital, raising serious concerns about the use of Ethiopian territory for cross-border military operations against Sudan.
The latest developments come just days after Sudanese Echo published an exclusive report, citing reliable sources, revealing that a group of foreign mercenaries had arrived at Asosa Airport in western Ethiopia aboard an aircraft from the United Arab Emirates, amid preparations for a large-scale drone offensive targeting Sudan's Blue Nile State.
The sources had indicated that preparations were underway to deploy a significant number of drones, with Saturday, October 17, 2026, reportedly designated as the planned start date for the offensive. The nationalities and number of mercenaries who arrived at the airport were not disclosed.
The newly reported launch location lends further significance to Sudanese Echo's earlier reporting on military preparations inside Ethiopia and raises questions about whether the scope of the planned operations has expanded beyond Blue Nile State to include the Sudanese capital, Khartoum. Sudanese Echo has not independently verified the precise launch location or established a direct operational connection between the reported mercenary arrivals and Monday's attacks.
The developments also follow a Reuters investigation published on February 10, 2026, which revealed the existence of a secret military training camp in Ethiopia's Benishangul-Gumuz region, where thousands of fighters were reportedly being trained for the Rapid Support Militia. Drawing on satellite imagery, security documents, and interviews with eight sources, including a senior Ethiopian government official, Reuters reported that the United Arab Emirates had financed the camp's construction and provided military trainers and logistical support.
According to an Ethiopian security document reviewed by the news agency, approximately 4,300 fighters were stationed at the facility in early January. The investigation also identified expansion work at Asosa Airport, including infrastructure associated with drone operations. The UAE has denied involvement in Sudan's war.
Separately, Yale University's Humanitarian Research Lab (HRL), based at the Yale School of Public Health, documented military activity at an Ethiopian National Defense Forces base in Asosa in a series of reports published throughout 2026. Based on satellite imagery analysis, the laboratory assessed with high confidence that activity at the facility was consistent with military assistance to the Rapid Support Militia.
Yale's findings included military and logistical movements at the base, as well as the preparation and repainting of vehicles consistent with those operated by the militia in Sudan's Blue Nile State. In a report published on August 28, the laboratory also identified a brigade-sized military support buildup at the facility associated with activities supporting the militia.
The renewed attacks on Khartoum follow a series of drone strikes against civilians across Sudan, including an attack on a gathering of displaced people in Abu Shendi, Wad Al-Mahi locality, Blue Nile State, on October 9. That attack killed 41 civilians, including eight children and a large number of women. The United Nations condemned the attack and warned of the continued targeting of civilians and the worsening humanitarian situation.
The deaths of three young children in Khartoum on Monday have once again highlighted the devastating civilian toll of the militia's drone operations. Meanwhile, the latest information obtained by Sudanese Echo points to continued military preparations and activities linked to the Rapid Support Militia inside Ethiopian territory, raising concerns about further attacks on Sudanese cities and critical civilian infrastructure, including power stations, water supply facilities, and other essential public services.
