I’m pretty sure random discoveries of human body parts for the second time in two weeks doesn’t bode well for economic revival in downtown Portland.

The first turned up accidentally last week. One of the taxpayer-funded homeless- camp cleanup teams discovered the human remains in a trash bag.
Then, yesterday, more parts were discovered around a mile away from the first parts at West Burnside and Interstate 405.
Even more disturbing is the first guess from the cops is that maybe the two different human parts may be connected.
Maybe we’re looking at two bodies, maybe not.
Do you see the problem with spending billions to keep homeless camps going?
Someone dies or is murdered, and no one even knows unless some parts turn up and then someone finds them.
Homeless camps hide perverts and sex offenders, drug dealers, and other criminals.
They pose a life safety danger to those who live in them and NEAR them.
And as we’re finding out over the last couple of weeks, someone can die in a camp, and we only find out accidentally.

HE BROKE HER NECK, LEFT HER FOR DEAD, THEN WENT LINE DANCING. ASHLEY REEVES WAS ONLY 17.
In April 2006, Ashley vanished in Illinois. The man responsible was Samson Shelton, a 26-year-old teacher who had known her since middle school.
Shelton put Ashley in a chokehold, breaking her neck. He then carried her into a wooded area of Citizens Park in Belleville and tightened a belt around her throat before abandoning her.
Investigators said he went line dancing afterward. Ashley lay helpless in the woods for roughly 30 hours.
After hours of questioning, Shelton confessed and led police to where he had left her.
They expected to recover a body.
Instead, they found Ashley still breathing.
She had suffered brain trauma and devastating injuries. Surviving was only the beginning. She had to relearn how to swallow, walk and talk.
In 2007, Shelton pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree murder and received a 20-year prison sentence. He was released on parole in April 2024 after serving about 17 years.
Ashley’s story later became the Lifetime film Left for Dead: The Ashley Reeves Story.
But for Ashley, this was no movie. It was her life, her recovery, and a future someone tried to take away.
He left her believing her story was over.
Ashley lived to write the rest.

It’s worth noting that AOC @AOC mentioned a few times during her Michigan events with Abdul that there were people from New York in the crowd.
Abdul seems to be importing his volunteers and crowds.

But if I’m being honest…
Some of it didn’t make me stronger.
Some of it broke me.
It exhausted me.
Changed me.
Left me crying tears nobody ever saw.
There were seasons I wasn’t growing…
I was surviving.
Seasons where I showed up with a smile on my face while silently falling apart inside.
And people called it strength…
but sometimes it was just me begging God to help me make it through one more day.
But the pain wasn’t what saved me.
The heartbreak wasn’t what healed me.
The trauma wasn’t what rebuilt me.
God did.
When I felt forgotten…
He reminded me I was seen.
When I felt too weak to keep going…
He carried what I couldn’t.
When shame whispered, “you’re too far gone”…
grace whispered, “you’re still Mine.”
And somehow…
the place I thought would destroy me became the place where God met me.
Slowly.
Tenderly.
Piece by piece.
He didn’t just make me stronger…
He made me new. 🤍

I'm getting a sick and tired of people knocking electric cars when they clearly don't know what they're talking about.
I own two top-of-the-range EVs: a Jaguar and a Porsche.
The acceleration is incredible, the handling is superb, and they both look fantastic. Running costs are pennies, maintenance is practically non-existent, and neither has lost a penny in value since I bought ‘em.
Honestly, my only complaint is that if I take a corner a bit too enthusiastically, they fly off the track and disappear under the sofa.
