Today I held a press conference on my motion to freeze rent for 2027 and 2028 on rent-controlled homes across Ontario.
People are struggling. Renters told us they are skipping meals, delaying medical care, and giving up savings just to keep up with rent.
At a time of high unemployment and rising costs, people need stability and savings now.
We will be debating the motion tonight at Queen’s Park, and it could go to a vote as early as tomorrow.
