Solar & storage at schools is a particular win-win-win for affordability, reliability, and sustainability.
Afternoons, evenings, weekends, & summers - when demand & prices are highest elsewhere - is when schools would offload electrons to everyone else.
@CAgovernor, #SignSB1374!
Despite progress so far, we need lots more renewable energy. More solar on schools and apartments and grid enhancing technologies will help get us there. @CAgovernor, #SignSB1374 and #SignAB2779 to unleash more #CleanEnergy! Read @stevenmking95’s op-ed: capitolweekly.net/despite-ac…

A major reason why CA needs SB 1182?
Right now, "We don’t know how many [schools] have functioning air conditioning, how hot classrooms get, or how indoor air quality conditions fluctuate in classrooms during wildfire season."

"Temperatures across Southern California once again stretched past 100 degrees on Monday .... Many school districts announced limited schedules for students to begin the week, as the sun baked buildings not designed for extreme heat."

Thrilled to have had CA State Superintendent @TonyThurmond join us yesterday at the Solar For Schools Day of Action calling on @CAgovernor to sign #SB1374!
Let’s keep funding for education in classrooms, not in the pockets of utility shareholders. #solarpowerstudentpower
Today I was proud to stand with @SenJoshBecker and Oakland Unified School District leaders in support of his SB 1374. This bill will encourage more school districts to utilize solar energy and will help school districts experience the highest rates and benefits associated with the use of solar energy. The bill has been passed by the legislature and is on the desk of Governor Newsom.
