Preferred Networks and Tenstorrent announced on October 20 that NEDO selected their joint proposal for a five-year R&D program. They plan to develop AI-processor system integration using photonics-electronics integration and advanced packaging; PFN will work on 3D-stacked-memory AI chiplets, while Tenstorrent will develop open-architecture CPU chiplets supporting confidential computing.
