Guy who literally pays developers to not use steam and has gotten multiple games delisted from steam is calling steam a "walled garden."
Exactly this. Valve has held gaming back for years by locking developers’ PC games into Steamworks’ social walled garden where players can’t talk to other players on iOS, Android, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, or even other PC stores.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Nobody is forced to use Steamworks.
A lot of games use Steamworks only for authentication to allow for crossplay and do the rest themselves.

I hope your convention fails.
Days before the con and you make this announcement? Get lost, everyone knows what you're doing.

We really need to invest and efficiently build our own conventions, media companies, and neighborhoods because these worms have rotted almost everything our predecessors built.
I completely agree, having finished it myself today, it had great moments but the momentum held up by Edgerunners 1 just didn't land in 2.
In fact, and perhaps someone can tell me I'm wrong but it almost felt like they wanted to CONTINUE the story of 1, I won't go into specifics to avoid spoilers but I do feel like there was some confliction in the Writers Room.
Otherwise nailed it on the head, great show but if I had to rate it on a 10 star scale. Edgerunners 2 is easily a 7/10 while Edgerunners 1 was a 10/10.
