We also heard from Teleri Fielden about her route into farming through a scholarship to run the National Trust farm of Llyndy Isaf. Now farming at Hafod y Llyn Isaf on a 10 year tenancy she said ‘We have to farm it as if we own it’

Achieving Net Zero& ⬆️biodiversity. If you want to run a project,do research, comms or consultancy work, there is a LOT of money kicking about. If you’re a farmer you have to scrape around for 30% capital costs schemes and put your own time in to get shit done on the ground🤯🖕

So to finish, here’s a nice photo of some gorgeous wet woodland on a farm in N Wales that I visited recently 🙂 where the farm market their product as “Biodiversity Beef” which is, in my mind, absolute genius! 14/14

🌱Env messaging to farmers: Keep no livestock but also have high yielding stock which produce multiple offspring but also have wildflower meadows for bugs but make sure it’s high energy grass but also plant trees but don’t sell carbon credits oh and be cheaper than the US. Eh??!

The Wildlife Trusts…say (dogs) waste carries diseases for wildlife, with growing evidence that the 3,000 tonnes of faeces and urine produced by dogs each day disturbs the balance of ecosystems at levels that would be illegal on farmland theguardian.com/environment/…

Taking the lead: dog owners urged to keep their pets in check in the countryside

The Wildlife Trusts warn letting dogs loose in nature reserves in spring and summer can cause damage and disturbances to animals and plants

I used the word ‘Steakholders’ for a red meat/nutrion comms piece, and now I can’t stop using it instead of Stakeholders… Not good for a person who writes policies. (Although steak-holder does sound more fun 🥩)
