⚠️on weird chatters ruining the vibe⚠️ i always tell my mods “let me be the bad guy”. i have no issue being the bit*h in most situations, BUT— having clear expectations for your mod team can help a lot with uncomfortable or awkward chatters. mods with clear guidelines have the confidence to act on your behalf in a way you’re comfortable with. your mods should know: - what you need/want - what you DONT need/want - how you prefer common issues be handled (what’s your vibe?) i have a very detailed mod document for my mod team—yours does NOT have to be anything like mine AT ALL. it can be as simple as “ban weird vibes, ask questions later”. or “just act if i ask”. i’m a person who gets overwhelmed easily so a lot of my moderation needs rely on de-escalation and i like to know my mods feel confident in their actions on my behalf. having this doc helped me SO much to mitigate the awkward situations that i didn’t want to have to stop stream to deal with. this advice is mostly for newer streamers. i feel like seasoned streamers have their preferences by now probably 😅 anyway, if you want examples here’s some of the resources i offer my mods in our mod doc!
