Yesterday I had a conversation with a nurse which had so many inaccuracies I didn't even argue as I was so gobsmacked. She started by saying, "oh, you're still wearing them?" (a respirator). She then continued, "we don't wear them since the Pandemic finished thankfully. It was 1/

...stupid wearing them anyway. They was designed for men so didn't fit us nurses. That's why so many of us got Long Covid". So I paraphrased to check I'd understood what she was saying. She said, "well masks cause Long Covid because of a lack of oxygen" 2/

She's a degree educated person. How does someone like that really get things so wrong? Why don't they educate themselves on the PPE they've been asked to wear or the medical issues they work with (Covid & LC) - both with patients & friends/colleagues daily? I'm dumbfounded 3/3

I’m pretty angry at Public Health bodies promoting their “wonderful” Flu & Covid vaccine programme, while they fail to mention you have to be a left handed unicorn over the age of 900 to qualify for a Covid vaccine in the UK now*

Many in care homes are STILL being let down. All are clinically vulnerable, but noone at my brother's care home are eligible for Covid vaccines based as too young. Once one gets it, they all do. 2 died in 2024. They're in hospital regularly & no mitigations. NHS still don't care.
"Arguably the report’s most important finding is the harm caused by the division between the NHS and social care, and the way that care home residents, and workers, became a kind of collateral damage in the battle against the pandemic." theguardian.com/commentisfre…

Has anyone in the history of anything ever a) received a parcel from Evri & b) managed to speak to their Customer Services about their missing parcel? I've now paid more in delivery charges for this item than the item itself cause seller had to ship twice. I STILL don't have it!

Has general hygiene & infection control got so shit in UK hospitals now that people staying and/or visiting have to take in their own soap? 😱

Has anyone ever bought masks from Site King? They say they are FFP2 & FFP3 but I don't know what the quality is like. I've had yet instance of a mask that I'd normally buy no longer being available in the UK. My heart sinks every single time I find yet another option is defunct.

STEP 1️⃣: Don't vaccinate millions of Clinically Vulnerable people 🚫💉 STEP 2️⃣: Act confused when the next big Covid wave sends them to hospital 🌊🏥

I know a kid who had a Covid stroke. If an increasing number of kids are having strokes, why is no one looking into why? Is it because they already know the answer? Is UK kids never having been vaccinated compounding the issue even further? Where is the ventilation in schools?

This isn't the take the OP intended but it got me thinking. What if schools & businesses had done similar during the early days of the Pandemic? It would've only taken a few businesses installing HEPA & insisting on masks & claiming to be "the safest & best" for others to follow.
Monday morning in London, around 1927. A North London milkman making his rounds with a three-wheeled trolley. Look closely at the sign: “London’s Safest Milk.” Milk safety was a serious concern at the time as pasteurisation became more widespread.

Do people not see how weird this is? A member of the Israeli delegation was walking around the UN General Assembly hall to check which countries had left during Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech.
Netanyahu heyetinin, konuşma sırasında salonu terk edenleri tespit edip listelediği anlar görüntülendi.

If removing diabetics & other clinical vulnerable groups from the eligibility list was a cost saving strategy, you've seriously got to question the motives of that same Government if they'd rather destroy that purchased stock than let those vulnerable people who want it use them.
The UK government would rather throw away covid vaccines than give them to people who want them, and if that's not the very definition of antivax, then I don't know what is.

BBC News spent Sunday referring to Jim Ratcliffe as one of Britain's richest men, except, he's an immigrant in Monaco, having moved there to avoid paying £4 billion in tax. They screen him complaining about those on benefits, even though he grew up in a council house, went to state school, had free university education, and has taken hundreds of millions in public state support from the UK, French and German governments. They screen him talking about broken Britain which is poor, but don't mention that he is a Brexiter, and Brexit has made the country poorer. Our national broadcaster should have spent the day providing context to his criticisms, instead they wrapped it in a bow, pushed it out, to stoke further division in society. I remember when the BBC was so much better than this, and I hope one day it will return to having better standards, than to simply churn out divisive nonsense masquerading as news and analysis.

So my local Post Office will accept a print off of my gas/electric bill from my phone as ID but not me actually logging into my gas/electric account in front of them & showing them the exact original statement that they want me to print off a copy of & in poorer quality? 🤯

The @NHSEngland website states Covid is now endemic. @WHO never having said this. Not being in the acute stage doesn't mean it is now endemic. Misunderstanding this is leading to further unnecessary deaths & disabilities. Please read this consultation. england.nhs.uk/long-read/sta…

To the HCWs complaining that they’re overwhelmed by demand at the moment. During wave 13 of COVID-19 You won’t wear respirators so you set the example to the public that COVID-19 is something that can safely be ignored So here the public are, sick, in your hospital #Consequences

Roughly? Creating just one AI portrait uses roughly the same amount of electricity as charging your smartphone to 50% or 100% Not to mention use of fresh water How’s that “Ooh don’t I look cool in the 80s” thing going for you? While wondering about “how bad climate change is”

Tomorrow I will again vote against the Assisted Dying Bill. Today we mark Suicide Prevention Day; this Bill would make every day a suicide assisting day!
