It is quite strange that many now have the view that all forms of passion or dedication represent a degree of neurosis or hypomania that must warrant medication. Feels somewhat socially soul-obliterating - as if constant indifference or nonchalance is the healthiest state to be.
this is why psychiatric medication exists

I guess there’s maybe a world where we’re able to hold each other through it all. Sometimes I think I’d really rather be in that world, but who knows.

Actually believable human behavior in the pre-smartphone era. How times have changed.
New Yorkers carrying an exhausted unmasked Spider-Man over their heads and promising to keep his secret will always bring genuine chills!

Often the greatest tragedy of all in love loss is not that someone has turned out to be different than you thought, but rather that there is an ideal that you fell for that does not exist. The ache then exists in mourning the absence of the perceived ideal, not the person.

There’s a world where well-thought out and structured voice memos become much higher signal than they currently are because of LLMs.

One thing about the voice note discourse is that while it’s ultimately a personal preference, many of the busiest and most successful people you meet will prefer VNs for catching up if they consider you a friend. Texting becomes mainly for formal, tone-irrelevant communications. Judging all VNs as low-yield communication is therefore a bit of a narrow view.

Pros: provides a framework that can allow one to identify certain patterns of behaviour and thus, navigate them better, whether in oneself or others. Cons: one can get fixated on the identity of labels - this can hinder growth. E.g., “it is just the BPD/OCPD/avoidant tendencies”
Would anyone like to politely debate the pros and cons of the concept of the personality disorder?

Everyone mocking this gentleman needs to examine what has gone so wrong as to make them feel the need to do this. Keep up the good work! It takes a lot of time and effort to build yourself as a trusted figure in any domain.

It is looking increasingly likely that social platforms where you need to verify that the content/video is not AI before every post will become a thing in the future.

Those that can box the right amount of information in the right product and offer it to the right group of people will win. Knowing what to omit is more relevant than ever.

In all seriousness, I have found that many of those who navigate pressure very well actually have quite high levels of anxiety, possibly just a slightly different relationship to their anxiety than most people.
