At Techsauce Global Summit 2026, students at Enterprise Lab took on real business challenges with technology. One of the challenges was CP AXTRA’s Retail and AI Challenge. CP AXTRA, the operator of Makro and Lotus's, asked students to address customer experience, merchandise management, demand forecasting, and supply chain management. As a co-host, CP AXTRA brought real retail challenges into the competition and saw how a new generation approaches them: how they frame problems, use data and technology, and develop ideas that differ from existing approaches. After the judging session, Tirayu Songvetkasem, Chief Digital Officer of CP AXTRA and one of the judges for the challenge, told Techsauce that applying AI effectively begins with understanding business processes and caring enough about a problem to follow it through to the end. In retail, changing one point can affect many others, from products, prices, and stores to delivery and customer experience. Read full article : techsauce.co/tech-and-biz/cp…

Cloudflare’s Volker Rath: As AI Weakens Traditional Defenses, Security Teams Must Stop Acting Like Police . The network, identity, and application defenses that organizations have spent years investing in are becoming less effective than they used to be. According to Volker Rath, Field Chief Information Security Officer (Field CISO) at Cloudflare, organizations first need to accept that reality, because AI on the attacker’s side now works faster and more automatically than traditional controls can handle. . Techsauce spoke with Rath during GovWare 2026 in Singapore, held as part of Singapore International Cyber Week (SICW) 2026. Throughout the conversation, Rath kept coming back to one idea: security tends to go wrong when we treat it as a technical problem. In many areas, the technology already has an answer. What still needs fixing is how people think and how organizations run their processes, whether the issue is defending against AI-era threats, managing shadow AI, or governing AI agents. . At first glance, the GovWare 2026 theme seems to pull in two directions at once. The first half, “Anchored in Unchanging Principles,” is about standing firm. The second half, “Cyber at Agentic Velocity,” is about keeping pace with agentic AI, meaning AI systems that can make decisions and take action on their own without waiting for step-by-step human instructions. That raises an obvious question: when everything is moving this fast, do the old principles still hold? . Techsauce spoke with Richard Ireland, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GovWare, during GovWare 2026 in Singapore, held as part of Singapore International Cyber Week (SICW) 2026. Ireland answered that question at the very start of the conversation: the pace has changed, but the principles should not. That answer became the thread running through everything else he discussed, from the topics dominating this year’s stage and decision-making in the age of agentic AI to the banks and hospitals that cannot afford to stop, and the cross-border scam problem that hits Thailand directly. . KBank x Techsauce: EMPOWER THE FUTURE ECONOMY 🌏An affiliated program of the IMF–World Bank Group Annual Meetings 2026, hosted by Thailand, bringing together leaders from government, finance and global organizations to shape the future economy through capital, technology and people. 🔑 Keynote: Reimagining Trade for the Future Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Suphajee Suthumpun called on Thailand to rethink trade and turn change into growth through four keys: 1️⃣ Rethinking trade partnerships 2️⃣ Redefining the value of goods and services 3️⃣ Connecting trade with capital, technology and people 4️⃣ Building trust and resilience “No country holds all the keys on its own.” The door to growth opens only when we turn these keys together. . 💬 A View from KBank’s CEO Kattiya Indaravijaya said the global economy is being reshaped by the reorganization of trade, AI’s transformation of how businesses create value, and sustainability’s growing role in investment decisions. Thailand can be an integral part of the solution, with its manufacturing and services base, business networks and strategic location in ASEAN. “The future economy is not something we simply wait for; it is something we can all help build.” . 🎤 Panel: Powering the Future Economy – Growth, Technology, and Sustainability • IFC (World Bank Group): Mobilizing private capital for sustainable growth • Standard Chartered Bank: Connecting businesses and capital with global markets • Microsoft Asia: Expanding access to AI and building digital skills • Accenture: Using AI to boost business efficiency and competitiveness Read more 👉 techsauce.co/en/news/kbank-e…

AI can answer a cybersecurity question in seconds, but judging whether that answer is right still takes someone who understands the work deeply. And if AI absorbs all the entry-level work, a harder question follows: where will the next generation gain the experience to become that kind of expert? . That question ran through the Workforce Development Panel, "Supercharging the Cyber Workforce: AI, Skills, and Accreditation," at Singapore International Cyber Week (SICW) 2026. The session opened with an address by Tan Kiat How, Singapore's Senior Minister of State, who used the occasion to announce that Singapore will establish a Cybersecurity Professional Accreditation Framework. Lightning talks from industry leaders followed, and the session closed with a panel of UK representatives who shared lessons from the path their country began walking years ago. . Although the speakers came from different corners of the field, they agreed on one point. AI does not make cyber professionals less important. If anything, it raises the bar for what it means to be a professional, and the field now needs a system that can show who has actually cleared that bar. . Read more: techsauce.co/ai/singapore-cy…

Conversations about national cybersecurity tend to conjure up images of expensive defense systems, massive budgets, and security agencies working behind the scenes. Liisa-Ly Pakosta, Estonia’s Minister of Justice and Digital Affairs, started somewhere far less technical: with trust. . At Singapore International Cyber Week (SICW) 2026, held under the theme “Cyber at a Crossroads: Shaping the New Cyber Order,” Pakosta delivered a keynote speech before joining a fireside chat with Gwenda Fong, Chief Executive of the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) and Singapore’s Commissioner of Cybersecurity. The conversation began from a challenge both countries share: as small, highly digitalized nations, they need cyberspace to remain “open, secure, and trusted.” . That common ground surfaced early in the keynote. Pakosta noted that Estonia, like Singapore, ranks among the most digitalized countries in the world, and compared the origins of Estonia’s digital state to the way Singapore solved its water problem. Both, according to the minister, grew out of an urgent need to engineer a solution that was “great, but cheap and extremely effective.” Pakosta even suggested that Singaporeans might think of Estonia every time they turn on a tap. #SICW2026 . In the depths of winter in December 2025, Poland was hit by a coordinated wave of cyberattacks. The targets included more than 30 wind and solar installations, as well as a combined heat and power plant that supplied heat to nearly 500,000 people. Months earlier, in April 2025, South Korea's largest mobile carrier had reported a breach that compromised sensitive data from nearly 27 million user records. . Were these isolated accidents, or pieces of a larger picture that no one has yet seen in full? .. That question set the tone for the Opening Ceremony of Singapore International Cyber Week (SICW) 2026, held under the theme "Cyber at a Crossroads: Shaping the New Cyber Order." Three speakers took the stage: - Gwenda Fong, Chief Executive of the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) and Commissioner of Cybersecurity - K Shanmugam, Senior Minister, Coordinating Minister for National Security, and Minister for Home Affairs of Singapore, who used the occasion to launch the Singapore Cybersecurity Strategy 2026 - Amandeep Singh Gill, UN Under-Secretary-General and Special Envoy for Digital and Emerging Technologies. . Each spoke from a different vantage point, yet their arguments converged on a shared conclusion. No one can see the full picture of cyber threats, and as AI makes attackers faster, defenders can no longer afford to wait for the pieces to fall into place on their own. #SICW2026 . At the Forbes Global CEO Conference 2026 in Singapore, Tanit Chearavanont, Group CEO of the Wholesale Business at CP AXTRA, shared how Makro transformed from a traditional cash-and-carry wholesaler into a retail technology business - and why the journey demanded bold decisions, perseverance and the conviction to challenge the status quo. . From investment banking to the family business . Tanit never planned to join the family business. After several years at UBS, where he worked across investment banking, M&A and consumer and retail sectors, a conversation with his grandfather, CP Group Senior Chairman Dhanin Chearavanont, changed his direction. . 'My grandfather said, ‘I don’t understand why you’re working until three in the morning, or you’re at the printers until seven. Why don’t you use that energy for me?’ . Within two weeks, Tanit had resigned and joined CP Group. Years later, that same willingness to channel his energy into difficult challenges would shape Makro’s transformation today. . We actually need to build our own systems . When Tanit took on a leadership role in the wholesale business, online sales accounted for only around 3% of Makro’s revenues. A conversation with a senior businessman brought the problem into sharp focus. He said that his wife ordered from Makro Click (previous Makro’s App) on Monday but sometimes had to wait until Friday to receive her purchases. . ‘I was like, Oh, something is wrong. Something is seriously wrong.’ . read more: techsauce.co/en/pr-news/tani…

Can an AI company built in Thailand reach global scale when its home market is far smaller than those of the technology leaders emerging from the United States and China? At Techsauce Global Summit 2026, Korawad Chearavanont, Founder and Executive Chairman of Amity, offered one answer. In the session "$160M Raised: Building a Global AI Player from Thailand," he described a strategy that links specialized models, acquisitions, financing and regional talent. The aim, he said, is not to recreate OpenAI. It is to build an AI company from Thailand that can compete globally. That distinction matters. Amity's approach is less about winning a race for the largest general model and more about controlling the data, distribution and execution needed to solve narrower enterprise problems across multiple markets. techsauce.co/en/ai/how-can-t…

Most organizations are already running AI pilots. What separates the ones that reach production, according to Wonderful Thailand, is how the work is designed, deployed and measured. . Speaking at Techsauce Global Summit 2026 in a session titled "Everyone's Running Agent Pilots. But Few Are Ready to Scale. Here's Why.", Ariya Banomyong, President of Wonderful Thailand, opened by asking how AI deployments in Thailand are progressing from pilots to practical use. Reflecting on the recent growth of AI, he focused on the next challenge: moving from experimentation to scale. In his view, the constraint is rarely the technology itself, but how organizations are set up to design, deploy and measure it. . [Lessons from earlier technology shifts in Thailand] Ariya has watched three technology cycles arrive on schedule: internet adoption in the early 2010s, e-commerce, which many businesses embraced in earnest during the pandemic years, and the shift of audiences from broadcast to online video. In each case the technology arrived as expected, and what differed was when organizations chose to act. AI, he suggested, poses the same question again. . Read more: techsauce.co/en/ai/wonderful…
