On August 5th, @PMOIndia met @netflix Co-CEO @sarandos_ted in New Delhi. Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi said India has a rich tradition of storytelling and an extraordinary pool of creative talent which can be leveraged to strengthen the nation as a global hub for content creation. Netflix marked its tenth anniversary in India by launching the @NetflixIndia Storytelling Initiative in collaboration with the @ Indian Institute of Creative Technologies and @nfdcindia Ted Sarandos noted that Indian stories are increasingly topping viewership charts across dozens of international markets. And starting tomorrow i.e August 26th 👉 Film Expo India 2026 opens at @ITPODesk in New Delhi. Studios, producers, OTT platforms, investors, technology companies, and independent creators all under one roof focused on one question: how does India build its position as a global cinematic force? Two significant events. Three weeks apart. Same city. Same conversation. I read all of this and felt two things simultaneously. Validation. And urgency. Validation: because everything these events represent is something many of us in Indian media have believed for a long time. That India's stories are not just for Indian audiences. That this civilisation with thousands of years of narrative tradition, 1.4 billion lives worth of material, and the richest diversity of language and culture on earth has something to offer the world that no other country can replicate. Urgency: because when the highest office in India and the world's most powerful streaming platform agree on something publicly, the window for independent, founder driven companies to establish their position narrows. 👇 The big players will now move faster. The capital will flow. The competition will intensify. This is not the beginning of India's content story. It is the moment the world officially took notice of it. For those of us who have been building in this space, @eplogmedia was not built in response to a government initiative or a platform announcement. It was built because we believed, before the data confirmed it, before the industry acknowledged it, before the capital arrived, that Indian audio storytelling deserved a serious, dedicated home. We have a long way to go. But we have never felt more certain that we are building in the right direction. India's stories deserve the world's attention.
