The amount of times I’ve heard this about my brother…among other things 🤦🏽♀️😒
Actually, it inspired me to make a piece for my AP photo portfolio a few years back⬇️
Friendly reminder: autistic individuals don’t have a “look” and saying that is more harmful than helpful

ALT A photo edited image of my brother back in 2021 with a solemn face in the middle with different phrases in different sizes and opacities surrounding him. The photo has a blue tint all over. The point of this piece is to portray some phrases that people say about autistic individuals that can come off as very ableist and harmful to autistic people, including my brother. This includes some things I have heard about my brother as well as other general ones.

Hey @warnerbrostv, don’t let #NBCFound die with another shortsighted network exec decision. This show is powerful, necessary, and the only one I made time to watch live. It deserves better—and so do the millions who saw themselves in it. Shop it. Save it.
EXCLUSIVE: ‘Found’ will not be getting a Season 3 at NBC. The series, starring Shanola Hampton, may be shopped by its lead studio Warner Bros. Television.
The news comes ahead of the Season 2 finale. The episode, which will now serve as a series finale, airs on May 15.

It's ok to not be ok today and in the days to come. I choose hope and will keep fighting for freedom, even when I'm saddened by the reality around us. I’m grateful to live in a country where freedom of expression is our right—yet heartbroken by what that freedom sometimes reveals

If people actually abandoned the idea there’s a “right” or “wrong” way of creating and being, they would be exposed to so many artists including so many talented disabled people.

I'm thrilled to see more students seeking accommodations. It means our doors are finally opening wider. As someone who's lived this experience, I can attest: accommodations don't lower standards—they enable us to meet them. (4/5)

Don’t have the words right now. But this is so unacceptable & heartbreaking. No athlete should ever go through this. This is unfair & cruel. Athlete fairness & athlete mental health matters. Athletes should not suffer from mistakes that are out of their control. & the bullying must stop!

#JordanChiles,
You are a champion.
You suggested one of the most memorable, love-centered moments in sports history.
No matter what happens next, you are great, now and forever.
