6 years later, and it's become the highest GDP per capita city in the state.
Just kidding, nothing got built and they stole the money

You’re telling me there’s a game where I can travel back to medieval England…
As a fucking modern day soldier.
With a gun.
Then roll into a battle driving an automobile carrying an AK-47 and quite literally mow down knights?
Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit.
When can I play this masterpiece?
Game: Kingmakers
Any Bernie Sanders fan, or anyone else knuckle dragging around pretending he is correct needs to do 2 things:
1. Take care of the carpet burns on your knuckles, you don’t want them to get infected for dragging them around all day.
2. Do 10 minutes of research on automation and machine learning and its capabilities of the past 15-20 years.
Then come back and rethink what he is proposing and how destroying the economy would be for everyone’s benefit. And yes, if what he proposes was put into law it would destroy the global economy in weeks, and that’s not even taking the Ai collapse into account.
With a back check meter… a finite resource that can only be used a couple times.
And the ability to create your own chirps and dirty hits in the corner that can permanently maim.

Understand that the anti-data center movement is, at its core, a deindustrialization movement. So of course China is pushing it.
The US is manufacturing, at scale, the most valuable resource in the modern economy: artificial intelligence. But already, the NIMBY/anti-AI coalition wants to offshore the means of production.
How did that work out for us when we moved the manufacturing of steel, electronics, and other critical industries to East Asia?
Well, it worked out great for China, but decimated America's Heartland.
Now notice the overlap between the regions hit hardest by the China Shock (chart I) in the 2000s vs. the areas where the data center buildout is currently strongest (chart II).
This is a great American comeback story, the hour of the Rust Belt's industrial renaissance. For the first time in decades, we have a chance to reclaim industrial supremacy in the very sector that will determine the future of the global economy.
These are the stakes, and our enemy understands them better than most members of Congress.
Still waiting the numbers on Cale Makar but it’s going to be massive. Unpopular opinion… Avs could have traded him and received a massive return that would ultimately make the team better. If having 2 elite players is all that it took to win a cup then Edmonton and Failronto would be dominant.
The contract isn’t going to make the Avs better, it’s going to keep them the same.

You could move to New York City.
Rent an 852-square-foot apartment for $5,503 a month.
Blow $500 on three “first dates” a week and somehow remain single for six years.
Finally meet someone you like, then discover they’re “not really looking for anything serious right now.”
Get a master’s degree so you can qualify for an internship.
Apply to 147 jobs, get 93 automated rejections, and finally find an “entry-level” position requiring five years of experience.
Eventually land a six-figure job and still need a roommate to make rent.
Pay federal income tax, New York State income tax, AND New York City income tax because apparently living there is a three-level subscription.
Learn that a “quiet neighborhood” means the sirens only come by every 20 minutes.
Pay $27 every day for a sandwich (no sides) because the place has exposed brick and a handwritten menu.
Take the subway to work every morning and develop the useful skill of pretending not to notice absolutely anything happening around you.
Spend 45 minutes traveling three miles.
Carry your groceries home six blocks because parking near your apartment is more of a philosophical concept than an actual possibility.
Have “owning a washer and dryer” become one of your primary measures of generational wealth.
Walk past a mountain of trash bags on your way to a restaurant with a Michelin star.
Tell your friends back home you don’t need a car while spending $46 on an Uber because the subway is delayed again.
Go to Central Park when you want to remember what trees look like.
Spend your twenties telling everyone you could NEVER live anywhere else.
Then one day you visit your cousin in Iowa.
He has a house with four bedrooms, a garage, a yard, two cars, four kids, and somehow pays less than you do for the apartment where your refrigerator touches your couch.
But hey.
The NYC bagels are incredible.

So there are 3 things preventing this that should be looked at but there is a reason they throw food away instead of giving it away.
1. Lawsuits. In a lot of places there aren't laws that protect people who donate food if someone was to get sick from said food.
2. Regulations on transporting food. In most cities you have to keep proper temperature control on the food while transporting it which means the food must remain heated or cooled.
3. Permits to publicly share food. In most cities they require permits to hand out food.
In short they have made it prohibitively expensive to hand out food to homeless people. They also don't like that people do this for free when they can make caring for the homeless a jobs program for Democrat activist.
I see American leftists are fetishizing Mao again.
Part of what got me involved in SF politics was @DSA_SF hosting sycophantic Mao readings in 2023 and trolling Chinese Americans who pointed out the history.
