In 1936, the petition failed. The community did not. 100,000 had petitioned the Home Secretary to ban Mosley's march. He refused. So the people took to the streets instead. The fascists did not pass. 90 years later, we're back on Cable Street. Why should you attend? Because the fight against fascism didn't end in 1936. Because community is stronger than hate. Because we remember what they tried to do and what we did to stop them. Because the far right are on the rise again, and we must defend our communities. 4 October 2026.
