The GOP Gov nominee is being called out for a smorgasbord of hate but their nominee for Secretary of State can’t find the words. This from @votedanbrady: “Well, Darren Bailey is running for governor on the Republican ticket, and I’m a Republican,” nbcchicago.com/news/local/gi…
Absolutely unacceptable for a potential appointee to a board to spew such bigoted hatred. I should hope that all Naperville city council members publicly reject this appointment and truly think about what it means to hand over the Dias to hate speech.

The budget implementation bill received six fewer votes than the actual budget, a good guess as to why: the bill does not block lawmakers' cost of living increase, though there's allegedly some agreement w the Comptroller to withhold that $$.
But it's an election year.

Grateful for my colleagues joining me in the call for Speaker Madigan to resign from not only his role as Speaker, but also as the chair of the Democratic Party of Illinois.

Teaching about #Thanksgiving in a socially responsible way means that educators accept the ethical obligation to provide students with accurate information and to reject traditions that sustain harmful stereotypes about Indigenous peoples.

Student debt is at a crisis level in this country, and it holds our whole economy down. One of the first things I'd do as president is allow all students to refinance their loans at 4%. The federal government shouldn't be making money off the backs of our students, period.
