🧵Nine days from now, you’ll wake up on Election Day . . .
Do you have your plan to vote? Will you go before or after work or school? Mid morning? Mid afternoon? Do you have to work around something else?
If you don’t plan to vote then you’re planning to miss out on
Huge win for #publichealth.
I was sworn in during the middle of the pandemic— our biggest public health crisis in at least 50 if not closer to 100 years.
We held a 24-hour public hearing to discuss the removal of the religious exemption for #vaccines.
Today, the Supreme Court upheld our legislation. Big deal for public health as we watch measles on the rise in the U.S.
It wasn’t easy and we didn’t make this decision lightly. But we made the right choice for public health and contagious illness.

This past August, I had the opportunity to welcome @LeaderHoyer into our home. The funny thing is, I feel like he had been in many of my homes growing up. You see, I grew up in Alexandria, VA, right across the Potomac River from his beloved MD. 1/
He was there to support our Congresswoman, @RepJahanaHayes and with his help, she was re-elected to her third term. He inspired us that night as he’s inspired people for decades. His leadership has been a steady force for good and I know many of us will always be grateful.
He may be stepping down from leadership, but his commitment to service cements his place in history. And now, instead of saying my name rhymes with “a-penny”, I can say, it rhymes with “a-Steny.” Thank you, @LeaderHoyer
