Interest Session #N07: We often struggle with how to assess students’ proficiency outcomes—without taking too much time to grade. Strategies such as project-based learning and integrated skills will be provided to help you teach and assess for proficiency even with the constraints that you may have, such as getting students ready for standardized tests. Lesson Magic by Teaching Solved will be demonstrated to help support you in this in Spanish, French, or English, but the strategies are also applicable more broadly. @TeachingSolved #langchat #worldlanguages #languageteachers #languagelearners #LanguageLearning #GlobalCompetence #SDGs #LeadWithCulture #socialjustice #authres #globalperspective #DEI #RepresentationMatters #collaboration #languageinstruction #languageacquisition #studentengagement #culturalcompetence #communication #communicativeproficiency #scaffolding #creativewriting #musicintheclassroom #PBLL

Update: 3 pounds of books had to be moved from one suitcase to another one at the airport. Good thing I didn’t have a stowaway cat or it would’ve been 14 pounds of cat…

Why did @X / #Twitter start crashing and making you refresh the page and lose your post if you try to save alt text to an image? Is it just me? Browser version. – at Tempe, AZ

#LangChat #langTwt, a question for you - what do you say to teachers who are afraid to have the students actually doing things in the language instead instead of standing upfront explaining grammar from the book because they don’t want to get in trouble with their admin? 1/2

anyone?

I’ve been talking to some of these teachers lately and I’m trying to encourage them NOT to ask for permission, because that permission may not be granted, and then they will absolutely be stuck lecturing from the book. Ideas? State standards are good but not followed. 2/2
