For those of you who wonder what we do here all day 😏 Emma, Yuki, and @YashMisra12 walk through some of the decisions we made on the new search experience - fun to see the team in action!
Last week, we shared the new Windows Search experience and how Search is moving from finding to doing. The team put together a Beyond the Build makers video, where @YashMisra12 and some of the team share the design and engineering decisions that shaped the experience. We’ll share more at today’s NYC Insider meetup. See you soon.

So much went into creating a faster, simpler, more native Windows Search that helps move from finding to doing. Grateful to my team who pushed this across the finish line & can't wait to see what you think!

File Explorer is where a lot of everyday Windows work happens. Opening folders. Renaming files. Moving between local and cloud content. Right-clicking to take the next step. When those moments feel slow, interrupted, or cluttered, you notice. In today’s Windows Insider release: faster launch, fewer hangs and delays, better everyday details, and a right-click menu that’s simpler, faster, and more customizable. The fact that I can hit Win+V and painlessly paste the thing I copied three copies ago feels like cheating.

Amazing time meeting Insiders at our event Monday in SF and then exploring Build on Tues. I met folks who do tech support for seniors, talked to brand new developers just starting out, and chatted up 2 rocket scientists. Common thread was passion and opinions - keep 'em coming!

Energized to be back at Build with the developer community and share what we have been building. Today, we're introducing new @Windows capabilities designed to meet developers where they are with less friction and more flexibility, across local and cloud, any language, any framework. blogs.windows.com/windowsdev…

Who's coming to Build next week? I'll be there for Day 1 and it's my first-ever time attending🙈 Share all your pro tips and LMK if you're going to be there - I love hearing feedback on Windows in person.
Something new is coming for developers. And no, it’s not a new OS version 😅. See you at Build next week!

I use AI all the time to build, write, and more… but today Copilot CLI solved a problem that has annoyed me and every parent I know since my kids were in preschool. I got the classic “here are 47 volleyball practice dates, good luck” email from my daughter's coach /1

handed it over and ended up with actual calendar events for me, my daughter, and my husband. My Outlook calendar is now full of lime green volleyball appointments and honestly it looks beautiful. My husband did get 100 invites, though. He’ll recover eventually. Probably. /2

Now available: updates that make the Taskbar and Start feel way more personal. You’ve been asking (loudly! repeatedly! passionately!) and you were right. Let me know what you think.
Your PC, your way 🎉. Rolling out more personalization improvements to Windows Insiders, including moving your taskbar to any edge of the screen, and making taskbar smaller. Read on to see what you can start trying today in the Experimental channel 👇: aka.ms/WIPTaskbarStart

When I talk about work we're doing to make Windows more reliable, performant, and crafted, there's been a category of comments that I will...politely 😉... summarize as "prove it". No doubt we've got more to do, but excited to share what we've delivered so far!

Alec and team are shipping some great updates to the Windows Insider Program that give you way more control. Even if you don’t have a ridiculous pile of laptops under your desk like I do 😜, all running different builds, you should notice the difference.
I'm excited to share some of the improvements that are coming to the Windows Insider Program!
