Weaving is still treated like something only elders do, or a fallback skill.
Meanwhile these baskets and pieces sell for serious money internationally, while many of the people who make them are underpaid at home.
Most of us are chasing government jobs or white-collar roles, yet the continent still needs the blue-collar work that actually builds things: furniture, baskets, lighting, everyday objects.
These crafts are not the opposite of progress. They are part of the base that creates the conditions for other jobs.
We have to start by valuing and improving the skills already here.
