“NO TOY TRAINS FOR TATA’S”
A brilliant 1970 Tata Power advertisement with a simple message: while children played with toy trains, Tata Power had the very serious job of keeping Mumbai moving.
The ad proudly says “Tata Power supplies BEST” and “Tata Power pulls trains across the western mountains.”
Behind the cheeky artwork was a very real part of Bombay’s history. Tata Power had been involved in supplying electricity for the city’s railway electrification since the early 20th century.
A little vintage advertising, a little Mumbai history, and a reminder of just how interconnected the city’s trains, BEST buses and power network were.

Andhra Pradesh’s clean energy transformation is gathering remarkable momentum.
I am delighted that Tata Power Renewables has commenced work on its ₹5,750 crore, 800 MW hybrid renewable energy project across Kurnool and Anantapur. With 400 MW of solar power and 400 MW of wind power, the project will generate employment for around 4,000 people and significantly strengthen India’s clean energy transition.
I am equally pleased that the wind turbines for this project will be supplied by Suzlon from its manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh - a remarkable example of our vision to build not just renewable energy capacity, but a complete clean energy manufacturing ecosystem within the state.
Our Integrated Clean Energy Policy is attracting India’s finest companies to Andhra Pradesh. Together, we are creating jobs, strengthening manufacturing, and building a greener, more prosperous future for our state and the nation.
