Thread 🧵 on Consumer DePIN
As AI models get leaner and hardware more powerful, Consumer DePIN + crypto could unlock user-owned AI networks. Tokens subsidize freemium access. @tasknet is creating an open alternative that could rival Big Tech.

The idea that a cloudflare or any company for that matter becomes the only gateway to get data monitized is a stupid idea in the age of stablecoins. @TaskNetDev we will develop open protocols on x402 standard and build the agents task engine.

AI agents are getting better every few months. By 2030, they'll handle 80% of online tasks. Current UI for Passwords & CAPTCHAs is not suitable . The internet needs to work for agents, not just humans. We built @TaskNetDev to provide agents with easy access to the interent.

AI agents are evolving fast. But today's internet was UI designed for humans with passwords, CAPTCHAs, credit cards. Agents shouldn’t be treated as bots. They’re users and they demand a new way.
The Agentic Internet is coming fast. 👇

Just listened to the great Google episode on @AcquiredFM. Search vs AI agents is an interesting comparison. Both capture a user’s intent, one stops at serving 10 links and the other goes further to achieve the user’s task.
The question is, will it play out the same way where ONE winner takes all?
With search you’re happy if your result is within the top few links. Google did great at that therefore had a wide range of happy users.
With tasks however, taste plays a critical role, there are too many answers to a question and many different ways to achieve a task. But only one way the user wants it done. That’s why Google struggled initially with Bard.
We’ve moved from casting a wide net to fishing for trout with a rod - focused & selective
This simple difference is why it won’t be winner takes all. It is a lot more difficult to create an AI agent that everyone likes. Taste will cause fragmentation.

AI toys will turn into productivity powerhouses. the most we trust AI, the more the "chat" will snowball into all-encompassing software running your entire life. I give it two years.

The AI that runs your life needs to be open-source, run on the edge and private. Otherwise it will make Google and Facebook’s power look small in comparison.

The AI assistant evolution:
Here’s how I see AI co-workers evolution stages:
1️⃣ People see it as a toy.
2️⃣ Some use cases like calendar, email, and recurring browser tasks become reliable. (👈 we are here)
3️⃣You will teach AI complex workflows embedded as standard operating procedures.
4️⃣ With more data, it becomes highly effective at its job.
5️⃣ Everyone has their own AI assistant collaborating with them on a daily basis, activating them by voice and have meetings with them on the regular.
6️⃣ The Rise of AI commerce and payment when the level of trust is high.
