Transhumanism isn’t just a futuristic philosophy anymore. The technologies needed to begin merging biology with digital systems are already being developed in laboratories, universities, military programs, and global technology initiatives. And one patent should get far more attention than it does. U.S. Patent US10786570B2, assigned to Rockefeller University, is titled “Ferritin nanoparticle compositions and methods to modulate cell activity.” Read what the patent actually describes. It lays out methods for the remote control of cell function using radio-frequency waves to excite nanoparticles targeted to specific cells. The patent discusses remotely regulating ion channels, gene expression, hormone release, neural activity and other cellular functions. It also describes nanoparticles being applied extracellularly or expressed intracellularly. That proves the underlying concept, using RF energy and nanoparticles to remotely influence biological processes, is real enough to have been researched, patented and demonstrated experimentally. Now zoom out. Klaus Schwab has publicly described the Fourth Industrial Revolution as the fusion of the physical, digital and biological worlds. The World Economic Forum maintains an entire Human Enhancement initiative and has published discussions of implants becoming commonplace, cognitive augmentation and technologies that could change what it means to be human. DARPA went further with its N3 program, designed to create high-performance, bi-directional brain-machine interfaces for able-bodied service members. DARPA says the goal included technology capable of reading from and writing to multiple points in the brain. This is the transhumanist road people have been warning about. AI connected to biology. Brains connected to computers. Wireless neural interfaces. Implantable sensors. Human enhancement. Biological processes interacting with electromagnetic signals. What critics call a coming “New World Order” isn’t proven to be one centrally coordinated secret program. But global institutions openly discuss biological-digital convergence and human enhancement. The danger begins when enhancement becomes monitoring, manipulation or intervention without informed consent. That line must never be crossed.
