🌍 Key Takeaway from our Stakeholders’ Breakfast Meeting
Immaculate Tugwire emphasized the need to move beyond global commitments and invest in grassroots action, where implementation happens.
As #COP31 approaches, financing must remain central to Africa’s energy transition.
“When we get into these rooms to negotiate, we are not going there as recipients. We should go as partners. Africa has a lot to offer, we have the raw materials, we have everything they need. 1/2
The moment you know you have something you’re offering, then it is business, it is not donor and recipient.”
Cynthia Kemigisha at #StakeholdersBreakfastMeeting
"The Ministry of Water and Environment's climate change department is now making sure that whenever hydropower plants are developed, the hydrological studies are climate-informed. If we don't look ahead to what will happen to the resource we depend on, we have a problem, 1/2
our catchments are being degraded."

“Let us put women at the center of every financing decision. Every climate financer funding renewable energy should ask: where is a woman gaining from this? Because when women are helped, the entire community is helped. 1/2
