Palestinian prisoners have endured decades of violations, torture, abuse, and killing, in an ongoing reality that never seems to end, as though their lives and dignity have been stripped of all value.
Yesterday, the extremist minister Itamar Ben-Gvir forced a handcuffed Palestinian prisoner to paint the wall of his prison cell under torture and threats of death, in a scene that reflects the extent of the humiliation and cruelty prisoners face behind bars.
Just days ago, Ben-Gvir threatened another Palestinian prisoner with death. Just two days later, that prisoner lost his life inside his cell after Israeli occupation forces fired more than ten bullets into his body.
What Palestinian prisoners are enduring is not a temporary hardship, but a tragedy that has continued for decades. Scenes of torture, humiliation, and death keep repeating, while violations continue day after day, without interruption and without mercy.
