Thinking about how the greatest love I've ever experienced has constantly been from Jesus. Words cannot describe how the love of God fills ever crevice of my heart. #happyvalentinesday
Man... intense scene unfolding in Orange County as the Norte Fire burns just north of San Clemente, CA. #cawx – at Eagan, MN
Love that we have someone like Vincent who is so good at presenting the reality of these events.
For everyone in North America asking if they will be able to see aurora tonight from this latest CME impact, we need to grapple with the scenario that all of this could die down by nightfall on the east coast. That is a real possibility.
It also could hold steady or even ramp up if we see the "core" of the CME which sometimes has a big stretch of south Bz in inside of it. There's a lot that will happen throughout the day that hopefully will give us some insights into what tonight will hold, but we'll see.
It's just too early to say for sure what is going to happen, which I know is SUPER frustrating since we all want answers and *some* prediction, even if it's low confidence.
I also genuinely do not know which CME we are sampling right now, whether it's the C7.9+M6.7 which combined and is very early, or if it's JUST the C7.9 and the M6.7 is behind it, still. I do not think it was either of the M1.8/M1.4 CMEs since one or both of those maybe impacted early on Oct 9.
More detailed "forensics" will be attempted after the dust has settled, but we could be in for another CME impact, OR this is it and we just have to ride it out and see what happens.
Quite a significant CME(s) impact! Northern lights for most of the United States are definitely possible, but we still need to see how this all evolves throughout the day.
Very excited at the possibility of seeing the lights from Northern California tonight!
Fall colors over Colorado as seen from my airplane window! The glare from the sun was brutal, but you can definitely make out all the yellow aspens.

🚨 MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT: YouTube will start prioritizing original content and reducing re-uploads (RIP clipping)
YouTube has just announced one of the most impactful changes to its short-form algorithm. Its recommendation systems (the algorithm) will start to further prioritize original content and reduce the reach of content re-uploaded from other creators without adding anything of your own.
They highlight this shift toward originality, where channels with primarily re-uploaded content will see less distribution within the Shorts feed.
It also seems like they’re really trying to put the focus on content with real value, while highlighting that YouTube doesn’t want as many “minor technical edits” or “template-based” changes. Which is basically all that clipping was in this industry.
Overall, while this will piss off some people whose entire careers were built on the premise of other people’s content (mostly clippers), the change itself is amazing and will finally address the overall quality issue we’ve been seeing.

Starship transiting the Sun this morning during Flight 14 — prior to this morning's mission, this has never been captured before with the world's largest and most powerful rocket.
I’ve ached over this shot for years, mainly for two reasons: what does methane exhaust look like silhouetted against the Sun, and how violent are the acoustic energy waves from 33 Raptor engines on the Super Heavy booster?
Well...now we have an answer.

Three years ago the first of October on one of my Magical Lands tours, we caught thundersnow over the San Juan mountains. This shot near Telluride, CO shows just how pretty it was on that day as the storms moved out. One of my fav mountains ranges in the US!
The north shore of Lake Superior (Minnesota) is so underrated. Finally got up to one of my favorite spots near Grand Marais! Can't wait for the fall colors to be in full swing here. – at Minnesota, USA
A goal of mine for the off-season is to get better at presenting. Public speaking has always been a fear of mine, so I thought it would be a good time to start facing it. Ironically, after making that goal, I started getting emails from teachers asking me to speak. Love how that works haha.
I’ve only done two so far, both over Zoom, but mannnn, I'm finding just how much I love getting to share what I do, especially with grade school students. And it’s been so encouraging to see how much I’ve improved, even just since my first Zoom. – at Dassel, MN
