Born in the aftermath of October 7, The Occupy Blueprint investigation began with a hunch about one antisemitic professor who had been a lead organizer of Occupy Wall Street. Have we, and our country, been misled about what we’re seeing today? The Occupy Blueprint examines how a decades-long political project helped shape, distort, and ultimately attempt to redefine our country’s moral and political framework around Israel, Jews, America, power, and oppression. The Occupy Blueprint traces a hidden lineage in which Palestine activism predates Occupy by decades, runs through Occupy itself, and continues into DSA and today’s “Free Palestine” movement. Across media, academia, activist organizing, funding, and politics, it maps the recurring people, organizations, funders and the feedback loop through which they built, validated, and amplified the movement’s language, tactics, and moral frameworks. The emerging internet accelerated that process, obscuring provenance and carrying ideas from the margins into the mainstream. Its aim is to understand the forces dividing us, one truth at a time, by looking past slogans and following the record and what the people shaping these movements themselves said they were trying to accomplish. The hope is that recovering this history can help us find our way back to a shared reality a country where we can disagree fiercely, but still begin with the same facts, and perhaps become, in the truest sense, a more United States.
