Isn't it amazing? The combination of arrogance and foolishness. Let's say they "win" the church back ... the very definition of a pyrrhic victory trying to maintain that property with less than 10% of the people. The UMC in NC already has plenty of "we won with 35%!" shells.

He was and is the person most responsible.
John the Apostle loves to talk about doctrine not to prove that he is smart but to show that God is great.

Yeah, but you (not "you Drew") but "you UMC hierarchy" don't get to endorse & embody apostate anarchy, call it ecclesiology, and then demand fidelity. Given those circumstances, independent Methodism is indeed a faithful and wise choice.

Governor, you can say "abortion is health care" all day and it won't alter the fact from which you wish to distract us, namely, that abortion is deliberately killing a living member of the human species--a human being and as such a bearer of profound, inherent, and equal dignity.
From Ephesians 1 & 2, plus some seasoning with Romans 1:16:
Diversity is never the cause; it's always the result.

My sense from a few conversations w/ ppl in the leadership orbit there is that decision makers are theologically orthodox and not in line with the sexual revisionism of the UMC, the Horizon Texas Conference, or @PerkinsSMU.

There's more theological disagreement here than one might think ...

Alignment Overachievers
As we continue through the Come Alive Galatians & Ephesians Workbook (published by @invite_ministry) at Good Shepherd Church, every group in the congregation brainstormed this question:
"Come up with a church marketing plan using Galatians 6:3 as the theme verse. Think of T-shirts, billboards, bumper stickers, and TV ads."
Well, the men's LifeGroup I lead -- but from which I was absent last night! -- went into over-achievers mode.
