Jalen Brunson postgame:
"Just want to say RIP to Stacey King who we lost recently. Person who I knew when I was in high school out here. He supported our team a lot. His kids went to Stevenson. Just to see him not here today, it's a little sad. And so I just want to say my thoughts and prayers with him and his family. And we miss him"

This is why I'm not worried about Matas and Caleb playing together. Two athletic wings that can defend and run the break. They'll figure it out.

Kobe Bryant says he would hire a car service to get to road games before the team’s first bus so he could be inside the arena before the crowd arrived and prepare in complete silence, and says he would prepare meticulously for whatever looks the opposing defense was going to give him
“If we had a road game, say Miami, a 7:30pm game, I’d still get up early and do weights. I’d have breakfast, get on the bus, go to shootaround, get my shots up, come back to the room, do treatment, ice, stretch. I might watch a movie, I might watch a little extra film.”
“Then for the bus to the stadium, we had two buses. The first bus was generally around 4:45pm and the second bus was around 5:30pm. I was generally on the early one, just to get treatment and get shots up, because I liked getting to the arenas early.”
“Sometimes I would actually get a car and leave before the first bus because even though the first bus was leaving early, there were still people coming into the stands. I liked getting to arenas when there was nobody in there and you could kind of feel the purity of the place, especially in a road environment.”
“As far as how many shots I was trying to get up, it depended on how I was feeling physically and who we were playing. If I was playing the Spurs, I’d work on short-corner shots, mid-elbow shots, those types of shots because those were the shots their defense would give up. If I was playing Memphis and Tony Allen, I’d work on a lot of back-to-the-basket stuff, putting my body on Tony, making sure my footwork was right, making sure I was hiding the ball so he couldn’t swipe it. I’d go through those muscle-memory things. The positions of the shots would vary depending on the opponent.”

J. Cole is NO LONGER retiring 🚨
“When I was making that album, I was making it like, 'Damn, this is going to be my last sh*t.' Luckily, by the time I got to actually finishing the album, because of circumstances, I'm like, 'Nah, I'll never say I'm going to retire.”

The last phone call Lil Jon ever had with his son was him calling back to say sorry. He had no idea it would be the last time he'd hear Nathan's voice.
Nathan was 27. NYU grad, music producer, DJ'd under the name Young Slade. For about four years he'd been dealing with physical pain and a lot going on emotionally, and he was in therapy working on it. His dad kept riding him to take better care of himself, and Nathan finally asked him to give him some credit for how hard he was trying.
Then early one Saturday morning, Nathan sent him a text.
"My love for you is stronger than my fear."
Jon took the whole back-and-forth to his own therapist, who told him something pretty simple. His son just wanted to be heard and seen.
So he picked up the phone, told Nathan he was sorry, and told him he could see how hard he'd been trying.
The next morning Nathan ran out of his house in Milton, Georgia around 6am and left his phone behind. He had a therapy appointment on the books that same day. Three days later a dive team found him in a pond at a park near his house. The medical examiner ruled it an accidental drowning.
Jon had pretty much finished writing his memoir when this happened. He'd already named it I Only Shout So You Can Hear Me. This is a guy who's been yelling WHAT and YEAH on records for 30 years, and he built the title of his whole life story around wanting people to hear him.
Read that title again now that you know about the phone call.
He went back into the book, wrote a new chapter about Nathan, and dedicated the whole thing to him. It came out last Tuesday. His co-writer Paul Cantor says he never had one conversation with Jon where Nathan didn't come up.
After Nathan died, Jon says he basically lived on the couch for months. So in this clip you're watching a guy talk about dragging himself back up because his daughter and his partner deserve the best of him. He says he had to relearn how to smile and laugh. And he thanks Allah for giving him 27 years with his son.
Nathan was a teenager hanging around the studio when Turn Down for What got made, and his dad called him his good-luck charm. Ten years later Nathan was engineering his father's meditation album. In an interview last year, Nathan said his dad always showed up for him.
The man famous for shouting so you'd hear him spent his last call with his son making sure Nathan knew he'd been heard.
Keke Palmer got EMOTIONAL and teared up as Lil Jon opened up about GRIEVING the tragic loss of his 27-year-old son Nathan, revealing how he had to learn to SMILE AGAIN, find joy in life and pull himself out of a DARK PLACE for his family 💔
“I realized I had to pick myself up, because my daughter and my partner deserve the best of me. I had to learn to smile again and laugh again… I have gratitude for Allah for giving me my son for 27 years. I appreciate every memory… If I can get through it, you can get through it. You have to keep living, keep spreading love, and keep spreading joy”
