We all know why they are attacking VPN companies, and it's not because of piracy.
Torrenting has been stagnant or on the decline when it comes to piracy because of the ease of traceability and the fact that more private ways have proliferated recently.
VPNs have recently been on the rise when it comes to politically incorrect speech and opinions. It is one of the top uses for journalists investigating cases that would put them in hot water with the censorious EU regime, bypassing national firewalls, and making sure they are not so easily tracked by authoritarian regimes.
