Since the American President announced the energy ceasefire a week ago, Russia has deliberately attacked Ukraine’s energy and oil and gas sectors 76 times. Last night alone, there were strikes on substations in the Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, and Odesa regions. Tens of thousands of families remain without power. Energy workers and repair crews are working virtually around the clock to restore electricity supply. Overnight, the Russians also struck residential buildings in our regions. As of now, 12 people have been reported injured, including two children. Two people have been killed. My condolences to their families and loved ones. This morning, there was a strike on an agricultural enterprise in Volyn. All necessary services are working at the site.
In total, over this past week, the Russians have attacked Ukraine with almost 2,700 attack drones, 1,700 aerial bombs, and 66 missiles, most of them ballistic. The main targets of these strikes are energy facilities – the Russians are trying to cause a blackout. And America should see that Russia is not taking any reciprocal steps in response to sanctions relief or agreements. On the contrary, they take every signal of an opportunity to make money as proof that their bet on war is paying off and they can keep fighting. It is because of this position of Russia’s that the war continues, not because Ukraine is rightfully defending itself. It is Russia that must face pressure for peace to have a chance. Latest: Zelenskyy tells reporters over WhatsApp that restrictions on Ukraine's Starlink systems remain. Interceptor drones can't function, logistics and operations hobbled. The maximum speed is 161 kph; "exceeding this limit causes the Starlink connection to cut out completely, resulting in the loss of the drone."
He says Ukraine has done tests to determine whether SpaceX is truly facing technical issues, as has been told Kyiv by the US side, or if this is a "deliberate operation... to restrict us, cut us off, and prevent us from defending ourselves and protecting our people, both at the front and among the civilian population."
He says Ukraine "sent a couple of vehicles equipped with Starlink terminals into European Union territory."
"They moved at speeds exceeding 180kph, and the Starlink systems worked perfectly. We have the relevant logs and evidence to prove this."
He adds: "The conclusion is clear: the restrictions are in effect within Ukraine but do not apply within the European Union. In other words, this is a planned operation."

Trump on päättänyt olla soveltamatta kongressin hyväksymiä toimia, jotka olisivat mahdollistaneet jopa 100 prosentin rangaistustullit venäläisen öljyn ja kaasun suurimmille ostajamaille.
Putinin lähipiirissä ratkaisua juhlitaan jo ”historiallisena” saavutuksena. Venäjän energiavienti on keskeinen osa sen sotatalouden rahoitusta, ja nyt Washington jättää käyttämättä uusia keinoja näiden tulojen rajoittamiseksi.
Samaan aikaan Ukrainasta kerrotaan Patriot-torjuntaohjusten loppuneen. Venäjä jatkaa kaupunkien pommittamista ja siviilien tappamista. Trump puolestaan on vaatinut Ukrainaa lopettamaan iskunsa Venäjän öljynjalostamoihin.

Moskova on ainakin oppinut odottamaan aina seuraavaa myönnytystä. Miksi Putin muuttaisi toimintaansa, jos hän voi jatkaa sotaa, pitää kiinni vaatimuksistaan ja saada samalla taloudellisia helpotuksia ilman vastasuorituksia?
Trump sanoo tavoittelevansa rauhaa, mutta hänen ratkaisunsa voivat vahvistaa Putinin käsitystä siitä, että sodan jatkaminen kannattaa. Rauhanneuvottelut edellyttävät myönnytyksiä myös Venäjältä. Muuten Putin ei neuvottele sodan lopettamisesta vaan siitä, mitä kaikkea hän voi saada jatkamalla sitä.

The tech billionaire made the proposal during the US President’s row with Volodymyr Zelensky over strikes on Russian oil refineries.
‘The reality is that they were both in it,’ a senior source said of Musk’s and Trump’s involvement.
But after a night of carnage in Kyiv caused by the slowdown, Musk was alarmed about the possibility of adverse consumer reaction in Europe.
The SpaceX boss then proceeded to tweet, blaming the US administration, and ultimately, President Trump for authorising the slowdown.
‘He tweeted out that he was innocent and that it was the US administration that did it,’ the source said.
