Now Andy Burnham is Prime Minister and already caught up in the Manchester City scandal.
The club he worked closely with as Mayor of Greater Manchester was found guilty of disguising over £800 million in owner funding through fake sponsorship deals.
His response? He said he’d be “really concerned” to lose the owners because they’ve been such a “huge partner” for the city.
The only difference between Starmer and Burnham is that Burnham got caught faster.
